Just five minutes after dropping off the kids at Grandpa's for the day, I got the call. Baby girl had fallen down the stairs and cut her face badly. It was a pretty bad gash and would need stitches. Oh...and then..."would you like to take her, or should we?" Don't you love it! Panic!! Well, I raced back into the waiting arms of my just-turned-three year old, soaked in blood, trying desperately not to have that horrible cold ice on her face and scooped her up.
Thankfully, we were an hour from home--our new home, that is. And only minutes from our favorite pediatrician. He informed me the nice wide gash was going the "right" way, so would heal better, and would be mostly covered by her big hairy (got it from her father!) eyebrow. Dear Doctor is very handy with the glue, as I witnessed previously with sweet boy! So, glue it was and happy she was not... for a while. She recovered quickly, however (I made sure she demanded ice cream from Grandpa) and is now sleeping soundly. I, on the other hand, have a sympathy headache...and would love some ice cream!
