We have had a lot of firsts around here lately! I suppose with children that is to be expected, however, things seem to move so fast that the "seconds" come and go before I realize we've had a first.
Today, however, as I made my very first batch of the best ever play doh, things began to pop in my mind.
-
Tuesday, we had our first ever all day craft day. Precipitated by the lack of arts and crafts from a "I can't come up with a thing" Mama.
-
Tuesday was also our first October 31st apart from Halloween! I'm excited to add Reformation celebrations to this day beginning next year.
-
Instead of just hiding on the 31st, we had dinner and bowling with friends. This is the first time we've all bowled as a family (and it's been years since any of us have bowled!). Can I just say bowling should be added to rear-end exercise routines. Wow! Those muscles you "never use"!
-
Then there's the first time we've started school at 8am. Thank you, daylight savings time!
-
The first time son emptied the dishwasher without being asked. ('Cause "I wanted to bless you, Mama!") Collective sigh!!
-
First time daughter bombed in the toilet. (sorry!)
- First time daughter has gotten up, chosen her own clothes and gotten dressed on her own.
-
First time we've kept the van TOTALLY clean for a week! (no mice yet-thank the Lord!)
I can think of more, but I don't want to bore you further! Needless to say, recognizing firsts can be an interesting experience!
