Making Recipes More Healthy
I'm really enjoying a new-found knowledge of healthier alternatives that is affording me the ability to substitute in favorite recipes. Today it was Banana Nut Bread. A recipe that I've been making for years with crisco, white sugar, & brown sugar--not to mention bleached enriched flour. Now I substitute Coconut oil for the crisco, 1/2 c honey for the full cup of sugars, and organic whole wheat flour. Now instead of a sugary dessert, we have truly good-for-you bread or muffins! No guilt here!
