Last week I was going through the red light (the ONLY red light in our town) when the truck in front of me lost his toolbox and his tools scattered all over the intersection. Cars just drove right on as if nothing had happened. The man pulled over and was trying to pick up his tools and stay out of the way of incoming traffic at the same time. An 18 wheeler slowed down and then drove *crunch crunch* right over his tools.
I thought of my hubby and all the money he spends on tools (much to my dismay). I thought of how embarrassed *I* would be if that happened to me.
I turned around and stopped at the intersection (thus blocking traffic from one lane). I turned on my emergency flashers and jumped out to help the man pick up his tools.
Lucky for me, the man was the owner of a gas station and he gave me $50 in free gas for stopping to help him!
Perhaps I should hang out at the intersection looking for people to help as a means of income. LOL j/k |
