The Heat is On

Quote of the Day: A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops. -Henry Adams

Regarding the quote above, how much more true it is for a mother! Just an observation...

Is it just me, or does it seem like the world is spinning out of control? Are we on the verge of some sort of global depression/conflagration/crisis? All these bombs falling (Israel and Lebanon/Hezbollah), global warming (yes, I 100% believe it is occuring, whether we can/need to do anything about it is the question), the end of cheap oil, the wildfires burning here in our state (California)... I guess I'm just feeling pessimistic today. It seems like the news is all bad, all the time! What's next? Will the avian flu make the jump to humans this winter? Will North Korea or Iran broaden the world conflict? Of course, there isn't any point in worrying about it. What will be, will be. All we can do is prepare as best we can and have faith.

A rocket fired by a Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) is launched against an Hezbollah target in South Lebanon July 16, 2006 from a forward base on the outskirts of the northern Israeli community of Bar Am.

Summer has decided to make its presence felt! The mercury is creeping up in the thermometer now. Triple-digit temperatures expected all weekend. Thank you, Lord, for the blessing of an air-conditioner!

Hi -- I've been really oppressed lately too and I'm not able to put my finger on it...I am saved, but I still suffer from fear of the unknown, pessimism. Could you keep me in your prayers please? I'll do the same for you. Thank you.
