When we went shopping at the commisary a couple of days ago,
I came across a different kind of natural peanut butter.
Usually, when I buy natural peanut butter, it doesn't get eaten much.
Sad, but true. But the children do not usually like the taste and thickness.
Plus it usually needs to be kept in the fridge
and cold peanut butter just isn't appetizing to them.
Plus, I noticed the price increase for natural peanut butter.
So I was thrilled when I came across this:

Even more thrilled when I opened it today to make sandwiches
and discovered that I didn't need to stir it because there was no oil settled on top.
And it really was very creamy and good!
So... I was comparing the ingredients to this natural peanut butter I came across
and the old Jif Reduced Fat that I was using...
Jif Reduced Fat Skippy Natural
peanuts roasted peanuts
corn syrup solids sugar
sugar and soy protien palm oil
fully hydrogenated vegetable oils salt
salt
mono- and digycerides
molasses
niacinamide
folic acid
pyridoxine hydrochoride
magnesium oxide
zinc oxide
ferric orthophospate
copper sulfate
Hmmm.... interesting.
In addition, the Skippy Natural was the same price as the regular peanut butter.
But more so, I appreciate the natural (and minimal) ingredients
AND the children loved it!
I may not eat completely healthy, all the time, but I sure like to as much as I can.
Looks like we have a new peanut butter.
