Day 11 - Don't Waver!

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.  But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.  For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.  For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.   James 1:5-7

     When we ask God for something, we must ask in faith, believing we receive our answer and not wavering in doubt, James 1:7 says, "For let not that man (the person who doubts) think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord."

     Well, wouldn't healing be included in "any thing"?  We could say, "Let not the man who doubts think that he shall receive healing of the Lord."  What man?  The one who doesn't ask in faith.  And where does faith begin?  Where the will of God is known.

     Sometimes I think we ministers pray for people in healing lines too quickly - before we know if they are ready to stand in faith for their answer.  For instance, many folks say, "Well, I sure would like to be healed."

     I ask them, "Do you believe it's God's will to heal you?"

     "Well, I hope so," they respond.

     These people's words show they are hoping they will be healed, but they are not in faith.  And the more they are prayed for without results, the less they expect to receive the next time someone prays for them.  They ask for prayer, but in their minds they think, I know I won't get anything, but I'll give it a try anyway.

     Don't let that happen to you.  Spend time in God's Word.  Find out what His will is regarding your need.  Then pray the prayer of faith without wavering in doubt.  Expect to receive from the Lord, and your answer will surely come to pass!

     Confession:  I confidently pray for healing in faith.  I believe I receive my answer; because the Word says that by Jesus' stripes, I am healed!
