FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Waubonsie Valley High School Planetarium is a unique facility best described as a celestial classroom. All programs are presented live by the planetarium director, and therefore are more like lessons rather than shows. Throughout the school year, field trip groups of all ages come to the planetarium. The programs are set up by grade level and address the curriculum established by Indian Prairie School District #204. However, we welcome outside school districts and home schooling groups.
The programs run approximately 45-60 minutes. Admission is $1 for students (8th grade & under) and $2 for adults (and high school students). There is a minimum fee of $30. Therefore, we suggest that home schooling groups come together. Reservations are required can be made after September 15, 2006. Contact Stephanie Gove of Waubonsie Valley High School at (630) 375-3247 for further details and to make reservations.
Waubonsie Valley High School is part of Indian Prairie School District 204. It is located at the corner of Eola Rd and U.S. Route 34 (Ogden Ave.) in southwest Aurora. The planetarium can be located by entering the school grounds at the Eola Rd. staff entrance, which is by the schools atrium, and then turning left. Participants can park their vehicles in the lot adjacent to the planetarium and enter the main school building at the planetarium dome.
