Hey ya all!
How are you doing?
I am doing great!...just enjoying the beautiful weather outside. :)
Nothing hardly has happened besides band practice which I had yesterday.
It went good but our drummer had to leave early...sadly. But it was a ton of fun!
I can't to hear in 6 months weither or not I made it into the band. But I'll get to have band practices with
the for a while. :D
Anyways...Spitfires asked my to post some of my thoughts on LOTR (The Fellowship of the Ring).
So here are my thoughts that I have had on the first chapter.
Chapter 1. A Long-Expected Party

My point starts now with Gandalf arriving to see his friend (Bilbo) off. Gandalf and bolbo have an argument over weither or not Bolbo should leave or take the ring. Gandalf knows that it is growing to be too important in Bilbo's life, especially after bilbo calls it 'His precious'. Bilbo may know that also but he also know he want it, and he wants it bad, plus it IS his. in the end Gandalf convinces Bolbo to let the ring go and Bilbo finds this to be a relief.
In this world and time we livein there are so many things that we try and hold onto because we fell we 'need' it. more like we want it.
We live a life always wanting more...untill...a friend like Gandalf comes along and tell ya that you're too consumed with this evil...so you must let it go.
if you choose to hold on to it you will continue to slowly rot and over time possibly die from it.
if you choose to let it go, it opens a door to a hwole new life! You feel relief.
You will still be scarred from you previous dealings but that can be over whelmed by the good that runs in to take over.
God is like Gandalf. He runs into a our lives that are full of junk. We do drugs, have sex beyond marriage, cuss with no end. But God just bursts into our lives suddenly and gives us a knock on the door that we desperately needed. I think all of us have had a time like that...or will. I know I have.
God has done his part by knocking on the door...now...will you open the door?
I do have some more thoughts but I do not think I will post them right now. Maybe next time.

How am i doing? I don't really think there is a single word that can describe how i'm feeling right now at this moment. Miserable would be one, blue, sad, brokenhearted, those kinda things. The weather today matches my mood. How are you? By the way, I really like your name with the Kiwi in it. Its cool!!

I can relate exactly to what you said. There are several things I need to watch, to make sure that they don't become "my precious", and push them off, give them a break, when they do.
Refusing to let go of something is probably a good sign you need to let go of it, and, just like you noted, it might take a friend, like Gandalf, to help us wean ourselves off it. I really liked how you brought it straight to home, and what "rings" we have, making it personal.
Your point that our helper weaning us off can be (should be) God was also really good. I hadn't thought of it like that. It's like that verse in proverbs, "Lean not on your own understanding, and in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will set your paths straight."
Just reading your thoughts has made me think about it from a different angle once again, even after having just read that chapter! I want more!

Ooh!!! The zoo is always fun!! What zoo did you go to?
Let's see, what did i do today? I went to the grocery store with my mom then washed the dishes then helped my dad in the garage, then went swimming, then ate dinner, and went to look at a townhouse, and now i'm on the computer. FUN!!!
