Hello,
So for a long time I haven't really written anything really interesting so I thought
I would actually write something.
So for those of you who would like to see pictures of our trip I will post a few
on this post. YAY lol
And for those of you who have been reading my blog and just waiting for
me to actually say something interesting I think that the following might be
interesting enough for you...if not...I'm sorry. haha
I have another blog as some of you may know and it's for girls only. On there I
write bible studies and such. Well I was thinking that I should starting posting
whatever I post on there on here as well...but I will make them able to be read
by boys so all my guy friends on here may read as well. :)
So here is a post that I recently made on Self-control...I hope you like it!
"Then come together so that Satan will not tempt you
because of your lack of self-control."
Corinthians 7:5
Wow. Our lack of self-control? Ouch.
Do we really lack self-control, and if we do what areas of our lives
do we lack? We all lack some self-control sometimes. When your little
brother does something to annoy you
and you throw a fit calling him a jerk, I'd say that's lacking self-control.
When your team looses you start calling the other team cheaters and such
even though they didn't cheet.
Your just mad you lost and need to get it out, right?
Okay, so maybe you don't need to let it out like that. No calling names.
Counting to 10 helps a lot...seriously....it does.
Just take a second, sit down, breathe, and think about WHY you are frustrated.
Really, if you think about it, most of us lack a LOT of self-control.
How else could you respond to the situation?
Annoying little brother-
"Hey Joe that's really bothering me, could you stop or do it
somewhere else, please?"
You could also consider just moving yourself. Take turns. It doesn't
help you by getting worked up about something that could so easily be fixed.
Another thing you could think about is why does whatever hes doing annoy you?
Lost Game-
Just relax. Thats the key. Stay relaxed. I know I sound like some therapist or
something...but it's true!
If you handle things with anger and don't think, things may get worse than
they really need to.
Hurting other people isn't the answer either. If you are frustrated for a
good reason, such as they are hurting you, then talk to a grown up or elder or
go to the person directly and ask them nicely to stop. If things do not
end then it would be a good idea to ask for help from an elder you trust.
And everyone looses sometimes. People see a good sport when you are okay
with the loss and keep working hard to turn it into a win!
There are tons of things that we can get overly obsessed with and thats
something we need to be careful of and watch ourselves on.
In the first part of the verse it says " Come together".
What does that mean? And your reply is, "Well duh! It means come together,
am I right or am I right?"
Well yeah, your right. :) But lets look a little deaper into it, k?
If all of us lack self-control...what will "coming together" do?
Think of it this way-
Satan is this super big buff bad guy who is trying to prevent you
from getting somewhere and break you, mkay?
You trust God. You love God. But you have made some mistakes. Doesn't
sound like it will be too easy for you, now does it?
Now think of it this way-
Satan- big buff guy
You and a TON of other people- who are all followers of Christ! :D
It sounds like you got a lot better chance, doesn't it? Plus you all have
this SUPER AWESOME God to lead you!!
So when it says to come together it meens encourage, love, give advice,
take advice to the others around you. Sometimes it could be a little more
general. God calls us to come together to fight all the evil that is put
before us.
For a little more on the subject pick up your bible and look
up the following verses (feel free to do some of your own research)-
2 Peter 1:5-7
Galations 5:22-23
Please right down any thoughts that you have had along this read, or even
later on in the day! Also, we would love to see any verses that you might
have found while doing some studies. :)
Anyways...so thats it! Please let me know what you think. I am always open to

Anyways, I'm at my grandparents house using their computer and for some reason I can't read your posts. Idk why though! I'll read it when I get home :) but those pictures are awesome! Haha I saw you got one of the arch. You were pretty close to my house then!
My week has been good too! Oh well for Halloween I was invited to a party but I didn't go because I thought I was doing something else but then I wasn't... lol yeah. Soooo we went out to dinner and just hung out! haha :) wbu?

I was finally able to read your post! lol! That's some great advise about self-control :)
I know right?! It was sooo annoying... but I guess it was kind of good in a way because I could focus on more important things then the computer.
Your new header is really cute! I love the white rose :P
So today I was making dinner and my little brother came in and he told us to go outside and there was the most gorgeous sunset I have ever seen! Oh my goodness! It was so beautiful... the sky was like striped. So yeah lol I got a lot of pictures but like you know sometimes the camera just can't capture the beauty of God's creation. :) I'm going to post them... whenever I can find my camera cord! Which for some reason decided to disappear. :P ANYWAYS...
Lol yup the Arch sure isn't for the faint of heart! It sways just a bit... hehe :P
Oh that sounds like a lot of fun! Yeah I did see those pictures of the pumpkins... those were really cool looking! :D

Yep, I love guns! I have a large arsenal, comprised of mostly shotguns, but a few handguns and rifles.
M16 was first made in the 60s and was used greatly in vietnam. it was one of the first automatic/burst fire/semi rifle since the BAR. It fired a 5.56x45mm round, weighed roughly around 8 pounds, and had a 20 round magazine. Though it was not a very good gun and had the habit of jamming, it was upgraded many times until the M16A2 came out. from then on it was used as a primary weapon for US ground forces. But lately it has been fazed out of production, since US Marines and US Army has reverted to the M4 carbine, a smaller version of the M16A2.
The AK47 is an automatic/semi rifle made by Russia in 1947. it fires a 7.62x39mm round from a 30 round magazine. it has been used extensively since 47 and was sold to many different countries. the gun is cheap, easy to make, and yet is one of the most reliable weapons in combat. : )

Aww, they sound so cute!!!! i've never actually seen one bofore 'cept in pics and vids. though when i went to the zoo, i'm not sure if i saw a meerkat or a prairie dog. oh well. maybe it was niether.
anyway, my week has been good. i had to get glasses, they're cool. all my sisters are saying, "you look so great in them!!"

Hey!
Yeah wasn't it beautiful?! I didn't even edit it at all or anything :) I was kind of sad though, my camera didn't do a very good job of capturing how pretty it looked. Lol :P There was no way to reproduce the view I got firsthand. :)
Oh okay! haha that's funny.. I was like hmm.. I wonder what that means. Yeah we aren't aloud to say omg at my house either, not that I would want to anyway. oh my cow works :)... haha!
I've been pretty good! Just really hanging out today, doing school... all that fun stuff! I have volleyball practice in a few hours but that's about it! How about you?

I absolutely agree!! everything is so much clearer. Like i was giving my littlest sis a bath (she's two) and when her hair was wet i could see the individual strands, but without my glasses it was all fuzzy. weird.

Hmmm......I've had an interest in weapons since I was a wee little thing. Learned a lot in my lifetime (pretty short one).
Yes I love to read! I mostly read about the military and such, but many a time I like a good supernatural thriller. Have you read Showdown by Ted DeKker?

I know right?! I hate it when people say omg though I'm just like ughhh say something different! There are a lot more fun things you could say... lol like oh my cow... or...idk! lol.
Yeah I like volleyball! It's a fun sport. I'm not really all that fabulous at it but whatever.. it's still fun!
Oh cool! Hope you all have a good time :) tomorrow I have to go to this pottery class (ugh) I'm totally not an artsy person. Then I'm babysitting.. with a bunch of my friends so it will be totally fun! lol :) ttyl!

yeah being a boy is pretty natural for me too, Lol.
I have not read Skin, but I will look into it. I like a good scary book, but not ones that are just plain stupidity on paper. my favorite book is either the Torah or the Bible. I likes House. it was kind of confusing but it was still good. I hate scarry movies though, like Friday the 13th, and Halloween, and Grudge. I did like Resident Evil though.

well the story...
my neighbors and I play "store" which is a game when you have a "credit card" (which is just a piece of paper folded into fourths with the number 24 written on it)
then you sell old stuff for "money" at your store. well its a very fun game. especially if your neighbor comes walking out with a Aragorn action figure. = ) you see where this is going?? so the short of the story is I "bought" the Aragorn action figure at a VERY high price ("$60" to be exact!) thats not cheep! =D
well anyway I got him and am very happy with him. VERY HAPPY!!

Hmmm....I've never heard of that movie, but I have seen one called The Eye. its about Jessica Alba as a blind woman who gets an eye transplant. once she is able to see, she finds out the eyes belonged to a witch. with them she can see dead people and watch their souls get taken to either heaven or hell. and she could always see demons taking them away. it didn't make much sense though, a lot of unanswered questions.

Hi!
Well, I have played basketball for a long time and this year I just started volleyball, but other than that no. My dad really wants me to play softball but I'm just not really that interested in it! lol :)
Haha yeah I know right?! Lol I have to live with that at home to... lol my brothers do the weirdest stuff... and they are SO loud. They can't stop making noises! *rolls eyes* what am I going to do with them? haha! :)
So what are you up to this week? We are getting most of our house painted... which is good... but I REALLY hate for the house to be all "torn up" in a sense. Everything is out of place and away from the walls and stuff... ugh I can't stand it! :P lol I like everything to be clean and orderly and it's definitely not like that this week!

Starship troopers is about a bunch of Marines that go to another planet and start fighting huge bug aliens. It's pretty graphic though, since the bugs simply tear guys apart in front of the camera. : )

Hm.. I have been playing for...I have to count ..hold on (lol) 6 years I think. :P
Haha yeah flag football sounds like fun! That is so awesome that it's a Christian group, I wish I could find a good sports group. I can't find any teams that don't play on sundays of wednesday nights. Sooo ya. That's why I'm not on any teams at the moment, although I wish I was! :/
Well, I think we are doing a "tuscan yellow" :P in the kitchen and a light blue color in my parents room. And.... I'm not really sure what else (lol) a bunch of "earthy" colors according to my mom. :)
Yeah I have heard of The revolve! :) My weekends always seem to be so busy too! I come off the weekend all tired... I'm like ahh, isn't the weekend supposed to be restful?! Hopefully you can catch up on some sleep soon ;)

Yeah, lol my room is blue and brown... my parents room is blue... the living room is now green, the kitchen is like a tuscan yellow-ish color. :P haha! lol yeah our house has been the same light brown color for like 5 years and we are now finally getting it painted! :)
No I haven't been it looks really neat!
Lol no kidding! I'm like ahh sleeping in on a Saturday.. I haven't done that in forever! :P hehe!

Oh haha yeah, well the second picture is a hosta blossom (I think it's a hosta?? and I also think I am spelling that wrong but whatever:P) but according to my mom it looks like an artichoke. lol :-D
Yes, I really like it! It makes the house look very nice... :) haha the turn out is good but the process not so much... but hey, no pain no gain right?
