In His Name Academy

Apr. 7, 2006

"We can't come to the phone right now...

...we're busy studying."  That's what our answering machine says.  My dear v.l. friend (who I love so much) thinks we should change this to "we're busy blogging"!

I must confess this has consumed most of the last couple of days here, partly because the dc are all sick and I'm suffering from cabin fever, but mainly because it's all so NEW!!  I'm sure the novelty will wear off and I'll be back to our normal routine and just using this as a tool to keep me writing and to record the life of our little homeschool-- but for now?

It reminds me of my first homeschool convention, CHEA in Ontario, CA.  I was awestruck!  There were over 5000 people there all doing the same thing I was about to do and for primarily the same reason!  They all had heard God's call too!!  Is that amazing?

Sometimes we feel so alone in our little homeschool and in our little walks with God-- and then He blesses us with something like this.  I love hitting the random blog button because you never know what will come up or who God will use next to encourage and inspire.

Apr. 7, 2006 - So glad I can inspire an entry

Oh but it is so much fun isn't it and it will encourage the kids to work hard so they have time to blog themselves. I am getting very anxious for this year's convention and to think our oldests get to go with us to the teen portion, somewhat blows me away. They can't possibly be that old already, because I am still only 26, (let me dream for just a moment). Conventions really are a boost to the spirit! Moms should all really make this a priority for their year.

Apr. 7, 2006 - The Random Button

Posted by
I used to click the random button but I calculated how many blogs are on this HSB and I decided I would never see them all. After about a month of blogging, I realized if you scroll down on the homepage, the most recent blogs are there and at the bottom of the page, you can view the last 100 posts. It only takes me a few minutes to scan 100 posts to see if I am interested in them. That way, I get to view the blogs of people that post regularly. My favorite thing is to look at their links to see if I find something cool, too.

Oh, and BTW, welcome!

Apr. 8, 2006 - Thankful for blogland!

I was the same way at first! I couldn't stop blogging and stayed up to the wee hours of the morning :) I have calmed down some, but I have to say, I do make time to do this. I have been so encouraged in my walk with the Lord and in the call to homeschool. I feel like I am supported by a whole network of friends and sisters. How wonderful is that! I found your site by a comment on Sally C's site ~ glad I did! God bless your endeavors and your writing,
Michele

I loved reading your blog...especially about how it is encouraging to know other families have been called by God to homeschool. You can never have too much encouragement! I found you through random blog and am thankful I had a chance to stop by and say "hi!"
