Ooey Gooey Chemistry Home School Program
Some cool chemistry concoctions can be made right in your kitchen, but others require safety precautions of a laboratory setting. At this program, older participants – ages 8 and up – work with a professional scientist to create an actual polymer called Jiggle Jelly. Younger children have fun making and experimenting with Outrageous Ooze. Participants leave with some great recipes for kitchen chemistry and the motivation to develop their own inquiries. The Jiggle Jelly workshops are sponsored by The American Chemical Society through their financial and volunteer support.

Ages: Recommended age 3 and older with a registered adult
Making a Difference Home School Program
The museum’s newest permanent exhibit, The Power of Children, celebrates the lives of Anne Frank, Ruby Bridges and Ryan White – children who showed extraordinary courage in the face of adversity and prejudice. As we tour this inspirational space, listen to an exhibit developer describe its origins and goals. Each family will develop their own Action Plan for making the world a better place and add their own unique pledge to the exhibit’s Tree of Promise.
