Last night we had family night with a point. We talked about unselfish
love in celebration of Valentine's Day. First we had them break into
pairs and they had to mirror their partners. This was to show them how
they need to be focusing on the other person.
Next we sat in the dining room to eat our dinner and instead of feeding
ourselves we had to feed each other. Again we have to focus on each
other.
We ended our time by reading I Cor. 13 together.
At the end of
the evening we announced what we will be doing next Sunday so they have
the week to prepare. We will have an evening enjoying our own version
of the Olympics. This week they have to pick a country and come Sunday
evening with a handmade flag and costume from their country. We will
start with the opening ceremonies, participate in several competitions
and then they will receive their medals. They are excited!
What a GREAT way to celebrate valentine's day! I will glean that idea from you and maybe attempt it some year! Thanks! Do you do a family night like that often?
Where abouts are you in INdiana? I am in NW indiana...in the central time zone ...I was just wondering :)
I would like to see what more you have to journal about , so I will put you on my friends list.
I am a mom of 6 dc living in the heart of the country. This is my effort at journalling what happens in our home and what the Lord is teaching myself and our family.
