The Raiders of The Lost Ark

touring

Last week we went to Masada(if you want you can look it up on the inter-net on google). It was Herod's southern-most stronghold. Jewish rebels took it over after the destruction of Jerusalem. The romans besieged them and, on the eve of there downfall, chose suicide rather than slavery. Only 2 women and a couple children survived. This particular strong hold was on a mini mountain. The romans could not starve them out because the rebels had food stores and a cistern thanks to it's previous owner, King Herod. It is an amazing tour site. Please look it up.

I read about it in the works of Josephus last year. Sad story, about the Jewish rebbelion.
