Sometimes it happens!

I guess you could say it was a "test".

This afternoon, all in the span of a half-an-hour, all sorts of things just "happened".

1)...our son ran his scooter into the water-weight section of the driveway basketball hoop and it sprang a leak going down the street...

2)...while trying to move the basketball hoop to a safe place (where it wouldn't topple over, since the water was leaking out), my dear husband and son scratched our van...

3)...as we were about to prepare dinner, we found our dishwasher had been unresponsive, and so I had the task of trying to figure out if we were still under warranty, finding receipts, numbers, etc.

All of this happened during one of the busiest times of the day, when we pick up people and fix dinner and generally everything is topsy-turvy.

It seems like the devil knew just where to hit us. Nothing super-tragic, nothing life-shattering, just a lot of little nuisances all at once.

It exposed me, and it humbled me.

What does it tell me? I don't just need Jesus a little bit, like butter on my bread, but I need Him desperately, every minute of every day. He is my bread, the Bread of Life.  It is so easy to forget, so easy to feel smug or competent, but then He turns everything upside-down in turmoil just so that we don't miss out on the greatest blessing--Himself.

Life is messy--got Jesus?

It really seems when it rains it pours! We've had similar situations, all kinds of crappy things going on all at once. Makes you want to pull out your hair, but yes much better to call on Jesus!

This look was an accident, but a God-ordained one. My dear son was helping me with possibly changing the look, when he accidentally chose a different template and re-wrote over the whole thing. After he did it I began to ask the Lord how He wanted me to spend my time online, and He has given me great peace about keeping my blogger account so that I can post on other's, but making this my main focus. I don't know why, really, since this seems like such a "small" pond, but I am trusting Him. He also gave me a plan as to what to write about and how much time to spend, where to read, etc. I guess before I really had no direction other than write a few thoughts and read and comment, now I have a plan of action that is more focussed and effective.

I'd like to do some more personalizing, but it just takes time, and my computer boys are always so busy with all sorts of other stuff that it's really up to poor, non-technical me--I'm still pretty blessed, though, as they have helped me on numerous occasions, and they do keep the computers and cable internet running for the whole house--can't do too much complaining there!

Love your template it is the same as mine. I also am struggling with annoyances. Trying to be tolerant, but it is draining just the same. ((((((((HUGS)))))))))4U. Sorry I haven't been around in a while, but I am trying to be better about it. So stopping by to say hi and catch up.
