MaidenCapitolaBallot has been wondering about courtship. She was wanting all of are opinions.
I have been doing a lot of thinking on courtship.
I think it is something modern Chirstians often over look. I know many who avoid the subject by saying they will never marry, I was one like that. However, God changed my heart and though I may not be ready to marry now, I feel He might want me to someday. This opened a bunch of questions for me.
Does God have only one person in mind for us? One friend asked once, "What if He has different people, growing closer to Him is up to us, what if He has a person in mind for every stage in our growth? Depending on how we grow?"
Is it possable for two people, both loving God with their whole beings, to marry and in turn love each other so that they would never fight, disagree yes, fight no?
Is it possable for a man who loves God with all his heart and does all God wills, to fall in love with the wrong girl, a godly girl that he loved not only for her sweetness of spirit but for her love of God?
Does anyone really fall in love at first sight? Or is that from fairy tales, I mean don't you have to know their character first?
How can we know when we meet the one we are to marry?
Love is a matter of will, so is it possable for two to marry who aren't in love, and then to, I don't want to use force, but for lack of a better word, force themselves to love?
Anyways, those are my questions, what are your thoughts on them? Heather
