Discussions with a Purpose

• Dec. 27, 2008 - Adoption

I hope everyone had a very merry christmas and if not my sympathy is with you. I have a new topic. Adoption. Lots of people talk about abortion but adoption is alot less talked about, but  it isn't less important. Children die everyday because they didn't have a good enough  home. I feel very strongly about this point. There are many aspects to it of course.  Like foreign vs domestic adoption. Foster care vs just adoption. I think both are great, but people have there  ideas on them. I hope to break those to down  in the next couple of weeks. 1 jame27 says"Pure religion, undefiled before God  the Father, is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. "

Job 22:9-10 says You have sent widows away empty,
And the strength of the fatherless was crushed. 10 Therefore snares are all around you,
      And sudden fear troubles you,

These verse lead me to believe that we should help them. I feel that if I am going to have a family and homeschool children then I couldn't do that without bring a orphan or fatherless child hope and if everyone felt the way I think  we could save alot of those children. I don't mean to just bring them in your home and take care them but to love the and teach them about God as well as we would are own children. I understand that not everyone is meant to and some people are hindered because of aliments but if we all had the same   knowledge about adoption I believe we could accomplish alot.

I agree with you completely. I hope to be a foster parent when I grow up. =)

I have heard many different views on this topic and I would agree with you. Look at all of the children in China and other third world countries and in the US. I have had the chance to meet a few from abroad and they have told me their stories. Wow, what a contrast! I have also heard the stores of orphan kids here in the US. I, if the Lord grants me the opportunity one day, would adopt. I would also one day like to have a family of my own.

Wow what a great blog!
This is a great topic and a great point!
Many children are being killed before they are born and many are dieing after they are born because they are not being adopted. According to the bible it is the Christians duty to help! I would love to adopted when I grow up!

Thanks for posting that!

We as a family think about adoption a lot as we have five other siblings. I think that having a little foreign or domestic boy in my family would be great. I think though that it is wiser to adopt babies rather than older kids as it is easier for them to fit in.

Cheers,

Naturally, I believe adoption is a superb alternate for abortion. I personally know a woman whose mother wanted to abort but instead put her for adoption. My dad was adopted, two of my cousins were adopted. Adoption is truly a wonderful thing.

I think adoption's great. Mommy and Daddy were once thinking about it, but then decided to sponsor instead. We children can write letters to the girl sometimes. She lives in Khazakastan. (Did I spell that right?)

P.S. Can I add you to my friends list?

I heard a report somewhere that if every church in America (or one family from every church) adopted one child, there wouldn't be a single child without a home. Wouldn't that be awesome?
