Homeschool conference at Disneyland, CA

Please forward this message to all your groups and blogs - we need your help to spread the word about the conference and don't want anyone to miss out!

The official 3rd Annual Not Back to School Days Rally™ at Disneyland (California) – September 14-17, 2009 - is bringing you the first-ever homeschool conference at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel, and you won't want to miss it!

We now have a conference packet available for download, you can view the latest updates on speakers and exhibitors, and you can register in one convenient place:

http://www.southwest-home-education.com/Conference2009/conf2009.htm

Membership in the sponsoring organization is NOT required to attend this conference - it is a national conference open to all.  We have worked very hard to obtain the lowest group discounts, and the most unique speakers and exhibitors.  This is a homeschool conference unlike any other, plus a super great deal on the best family vacation!

Deadlines are quickly approaching – check the conference packet for all the deadlines and get your room reserved today.  If you want to make payments, or you need to do fundraising, please contact me TODAY (this week).  We are running out of time to set these two things up.

You can make three equal payments, and this is set up manually, so contact me offlist with an email of everything you want included in your payments and I will invoice you.  Don't wait, the deadline was extended to the end of this week to get the first payment in.

On fundraising, I need 100 families to commit to selling raffle tickets.  Again, please contact me offlist.  You will need about 2-3 months to sell your tickets and raise the points to go, so if you want this option, you need to sign up by April 17th.  We have to have 100 families who are wanting to do this fundraiser to make it work.

Hope to see you at Disneyland in California this September!  I have left my email and phone number at the end of this post – so you know it's not spam – it's a real homeschool conference at Disneyland!

Welcome to Freebie Fridays

This week, I thought I would bring you some freebies that will help you and your kids study the Bible.

Biblestudio.com is a great site that is packed with research resources.  This site includes the Bible in a dozen different translations.  It also has a Bible Atlas and Bible Dictionary.  My favorite part of this site is the ability to search photos, illustrations, paintings and maps by topic, Bible reference, word or phrase!

Biblegateway.com is another great site for studying the Bible.  This is a free website for reading and researching Scriptures online.  They offer multiple translations and other tools to help you study God's Word.

Crosswalk.com
has an excellent Bible Study section.  This site includes a variety of Bibles you can read and search, lots of references material, devotionals and even a Bible in a Year program.

For the younger members of your family, edgezonegames.com offers free printable Bible story activities.  This amazing site has 325 free PDF downloads that cover the entire Bible!  Downloads include coloring sheets, memory verses, worksheets, word searches and crossword puzzles.

I'll see you next week right here at - Freebie Fridays!

Happy Homeschooling

Dr. Charles Jackson is founder and president of Points of Origins Ministries. He holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology, two Master's degrees, and earned his Doctorate in Science Education at the University of Virginia - Charlottesville in 1994.  Over  the last 20 years, "Dr. J"  has taught science or education courses at both public and private schools to students at the high school and university levels in four states.

In addition to a busy speaking and debating schedule in the U.S., he has also made several lecture tours in South America. He is a dynamic speaker on Creation Science, is especially popular with high school and college age groups, and has addressed many science classes in both public and private schools.  His main ministry is to aid believing students to contend for the Faith and to equip them as witnesses against post-modernistic thinking.

Tom Vail is the founder and president of Canyon Ministries.  Back in 1982, he gave up a business career to become a Colorado River Boatman.

Instead of navigating through corporate corridors, Tom took up a career leading rafting trips through the Grand Canyon. He has also worked as a part-time guide for the Grand Canyon National Park Service, and was an elected member of the board of directors for Grand Canyon River Guides.  After becoming a Christian, his change in worldviews triggered a search for answers to questions he had about the evolutionary model of the formation of Grand Canyon. He now says that the creation model of the canyon makes more sense and answers more questions than the evolutionary model.

In 2003, his book Grand Canyon, a Different View was published and briefly banned from bookstores run by the National Park Service. The book combines stunning photography with commentaries of some of the leading creation science writers, researchers, and theologians of our time.

Sponsor: Quad-City Creation Science Association - a non-denominational, non-profit association dedicated to telling the truth in Science Education and proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ - as Creator, Savior, and Lord of all. More info: Helmut Welke
