Rosa Of Linden Castle, Part 2

Narrated by Belle, typed by mom (you'll just have to read Rosa to figure out if her narration is accurate )

Rosa is at Burkhard's camp in the woods. He was a collier. I guess Rosa was about fourteen. Burkhard was a very good man and he loved everyone in that town. But Rosa's father was carried away, and she told Burkhard what had happened to her father. And she said unto him: "My father was chained in a cart, and he was taken away by Kunerick." And then Burkhard said "I have seen Kunerick before and he is a wicked devil, but I shall not speak like this." And Rosa continued. She said "My father . . . I love my father, but have you not heard he was already chained? Did you not hear me speak to you about when he was chained and taken away by a cart?"

But then Burkhard said "Thy fair lady shall not just stay here talking to me, but she shall have her dinner, then have a rest for awhile." And then she had her dinner and Burkhard said to her: "I shall make you a bed in my camp, but my home is too far for you to go." Then she went to sleep and she would not wake up. She could not even hear the rain. And she was in slumber.

Dear Isabelle,
good job narrating your stories. The boys make scrapbooks of their letters and sounds as we are learning them. Maybe we should post photos of their pages so you can see them as well. We love you. Love,
Aunt Jenn and Uncle Jeff
