Rosa saw Agnes at Burkhard's camp in the woods. Then he told them
"Go to my house, and I shall meet you there." Rosa and Agnes did as they were told, and soon saw his wife working in the kitchen. And Rosa told her the story of her father. And when the collier's wife heard it she said, "You may stay with us and live in our camp." And Rosa said "I know, and my dear Father would have loved it just better. Oh, you should be thankful in this quiet and peaceful home." Agnes said "And before all, I gave to my father breakfast, and I led the way to our camp at home." But then Agnes's mother said "Oh dear, there is going to be a lady come to our house and I shall not have anything for her except plain soup! Agnes, take care of the dear lady Rosa, and I shall prepare her something better to eat than just plain soup." And she did as she said. I am done for now, but I will tell you more when we read more. (A collier is someone who works with coals.) (Agnes was the collier's daughter and she was friend of Rosa).
