Jan. 28, 2006 - Patience

Will I ever learn this virtue?  I try to stay organized by having a chalk board that needed items can be tracked on by the family.  I transfer it to a list, erase the chalk board and then can't find my planner to know what meals we are having for the week.  I spend forever looking for it, when one of my daughters tell me its in her room.  So, I find the planner, but now I've lost the list...and it is no longer on the chalk board.  I spend too much time looking for the list, so I decide that shopping wasn't meant to be and start deep cleaning my kitchen. I come to the basement (where the computer is) to relax, and under something I printed is my list.  I finally find it 5 hours later.  Sometimes, on days like today, when I walk through the house and see it in dissarray (it's usual state) I get the selfish blues. I just want to be a wife and mother, I just want to have a clean house and laundry ankle deep, I want to be able to cook and bake, I want to work on the house, I want to spend my free time doing what I want to do:  drawing, painting, sewing, gardening, reading, working out, stamping, scrap booking, etc.  I have to keep telling my self that there is a time and a season.  I keep praying for inspiration to keep going.  And I sing, "Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming, just keep swimming."

Jan. 27, 2006 - Appreciating my mornings

Today I had to get up earlier than usual and get everyone up, dressed and ready as we are heading out for a hour long trip to get to a show.  It made me appreciate the hassels I do NOT have to encounter day in and day out if I would send my kids to school.

Jan. 26, 2006 - Eutrapelia?

Eutrapelia:  The merry Christian who sees the limits and inadequacy of all created things and for that very reason can smile at them:  he knows the blessed seriousness of things divine.

What does this mean to you?
