Good grief!

Dec. 26, 2006

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Christmas is over and there's somewhat of a letdown again.  Every year I feel sad after Christmas is over.  It's not that the presents are opened.  It's that the family time is over.

This year we went to my parents' house on Saturday, December 23 for steak dinner and presents with my whole family (my husband, boys, parents, brother, sister-in-law, nephew).  We had a lot of fun watching the boys (a 4 year old, a21 month old, and a 9 month old) open presents and play together.

Sunday we went to church in the morning, to my grandmother's after naps were over, then back to church to watch Eric sing.  He did a great job of singing instead of just staring into space (as he did last year).  My parents even came to our church in the evening!

Yesterday morning after the boys opened up presents from Mike and I we went to my parents' house to open stockings and eat breakfast.  We then spent a relaxing day at home playing with our new presents!  Since I'm 36 weeks pregnant I can't travel to West Virginia to see the rest of my family.  We were there for Thanksgiving, but it's not the same!

Overall, a great weekend but I still wish the days were longer and we were able to see more family.  Now, to get ready for Annika!

About Me

I'm a 34 year old mom from SW VA. These are just my thoughts as I teach my boys (currently 5 and 2) and girl (almost a year). I'm expecting baby #4 in June, 2008. As they grow I'm sure I'll have more to say that's worthwhile.
