Our second week at home.

Bubba's and Kirsten's Jammies

We had a very busy week. After dropping hubby off at the airport (he went back to LA for the week for work) and lunch with friends at Culvers, we went down to Mom and Dad’s for a few days. We were very busy down there. We cleaned out the old garage, and tore it down, raked hay and chased cats. We got in a little bit of fun time, I checked out mom’s new spinning wheel, and bubba got to do some plying of the yarn I spun for her.

We got to go see my cousin and her daughter for dinner on Wednesday (we miss them a lot). More details and photo’s on Mom’s blog http://cpthegreat.blogspot.com/2008/07/busy-week.html

I headed back up north on Thursday morning and went up to the rental house for a couple showings and have the bathroom floor redone.

We spent Friday doing laundry, sorting new cloths for bitty from her cousin (yippee, there is nothing better for a little girl than new cloths), cleaning, lunch out with a friend and running errands. We picked up hubby at the airport and stopped at the chiropractor before heading home for dinner and movie (Betelgeuse). This weekend is outside work and packing. We head back down to New Mexico on Sunday. We will be down there for about 6 weeks again before we come back up to Minnesota again for another 2 weeks vacation.

Explanation for stuff

The clock was the one from Mom and Dad that we had before we moved to Australia. It has been stored at Grandmas. I adjusted it and got it working again. The plate is from Grandma’s. The shawl is the clapotis that I finished last week made form the yarn that I spun that was from Mom. The round thing is a table cloth that I made with the rest of the yarn form the clapotis.

Our week at home

Monday We spent the day cleaning, unpacking, doing laundry and playing. I spent some time playing with the spinning wheel. Mom gave me some wonderful roving. (Thanks….  I Love you mom). We had a bonfire, grilled steaks, had corn on the cob and fresh homemade bread. Hubby had a dentist appointment.

Tuesday we both had chiropractor appointments and then went up to the rental house to make sure the tenants were moved out and the place was clean. Hubby had another dentist appointment.

Wednesday we both had dentist appointments and went back up to the rental house to meet the person who was cleaning the carpets. We watched movies and went to bed late.

Thursday hubby had surgery on his mouth to remove a tooth that didn’t want to come out. Then we worked outside and had a bonfire.

Friday we worked outside, grilled hotdogs on the bonfire for lunch, went to an early church service and went the park and met some friends from church for the fireworks. We did a picnic and games and had a great time. The fireworks of course were awesome.

Saturday we went up to the rental house and painted and repaired stuff. We were up there most of the day. The only thing left to do up there now is replace the vinyl in the second bathroom. We grilled hamburgers and brats on the grill for dinner and had s’mores by the bonfire for desert.

I haven’t gotten much knitting done this week. I did get Bubba new jammies sewn and matching jammies for her Kirsten doll. I have the fabric ready to cut out for Bitty’s jammies and will make her doll matching jammies also.

The girls have been spending a lot of time on their trampoline.

Family Reunion

We had our family reunion in Rapid City S. D. this weekend.  We drove up Thursday night and got in early Friday morning. We spent the morning with Grandma, Grandpa Childs and Mom and Dad. We always like to stop at Dinosaur Park on the way into town. There was a picnic Friday night, Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon.  We headed back to Minnesota on Sunday and drove over night.  We had a fabulous time, but didn’t have enough time to get to see any of our friends. We always seem to run short on time when we go out there.

Happy Birthday

Today is Bitty’s birthday. She is 12. How did this happen. What did I do wrong? I told her to stop growing and she just ignores me….  Well maybe next year she will behave better and stop growing up, or maybe I will just not let her have any more birthdays.

Party in the park

We had a great park day yesterday. We had a small party for Bitty.

The kids had a lot of fun playing and the adults had a lot of fun talking. We had cupcakes and cookies for treats.

We spent the whole day there instead of just lunch time. The kids didn’t mind though.
