We had a wild and fun Christmas at Lexington. Josh and I went to Lexington on the 25th with our cousins, Megan and Aaron. My mom, dad and Matt would come up on the day after we got there. Josh and I went early to catch a UK basketball game. Lexington is a long three-hour ride, but it's worth it. When we got in Lexington, my uncle Rick dropped Josh, Aaron, and me off at my grandma's apartment in Lexington. We stayed up late watching a scary show.
The next day was the day we would proove that we were die-hard UK Wildcat fans, or we would proove we were just plain dumb--I don't know. We woke up at 7 o'clock in the morning, and my Uncle Rick came by and picked us up to head for Rupp Arena. We were first in line--that was awesome! The down side was that we had to wait until 1:30 to get our tickets. We got seats in the "Eruption Zone", and that's the cloeset you can get to the players. Then came the hardest part. Once we got our tickets, we had to race to the back of the building. That's where we had to line up again and wait a few minutes before they would let us into Rupp. Fortunately, we made it to the front row. The "Eruption Zone" has no seats so you have to stand through the whole game. It was a great game and UK won! I got an autograph of UK's present best shooter Jodie Meeks. I also got Kyle Macy's. I think Macy played in the 70's. He made it to the NBA so I'm glad I got his autograph. (Getting to the game wouldn't have been possible without my Uncle Rick, who is the biggest UK fan I know.) After the game, we went straight to a Japenese Steakhouse where our whole family ate in a room all by ourselves (so all the little kids wouldn't run away). The Steakhouse was great--I loved their food. They put on a great show. They cooked the food in front of us and did tricks. We all had a great time. |
