Strange Really Really Strange

A couple days ago I had a migraine. I started one day and went on. I had put a bottle of  Extra strength tylenol that some one had left at my house in my purse. In the middle of the night(bout 4 or 5am) I took the bottle out of my purse and took two. I did not turn on the light. I took asprin the generic kind I buy when I got up. i went to the grocery store and by the time I came out I was no longer who I used to be. I heard a loud pop in my head and was VERY dazed. In fact I was sweating profusely and did not know where I was or who any ine was for about 10 minutes. I was also extremely sick to my stomach. I finally made it home and took my Imitrex for migraines. first one then about 20 minutes later another.Long story short, I went to the ER about 8 pm that night so they could at least find out if I had had a stroke. But the migraine was gone by then. I recounted the entire thing to the doctor and PRAISE GOD I did not have a stroke. BUT he was examining me and asked if I had fell. NO I said. BUT I have bruises all on the back of my kneck and head. Apparently I hit my head somehow. I showed him the tylenol bottle from my purse and he released me. I left the bottle at the ER. he calledthe next day with the starlting news that the bottle did not comtain tylenol. It contained a very powerful medication used for alzheimers patients!!!!!! I was stunned. My mil lived with us a while back and we finally had to put her in a nursing home due to the severity of her condition. She also had a lot of medications. I had to keep them hidden from her because she would mix them up in the bottles. When i destroyed her medications that was left here I did not get rid of the tylenol. after all any of us can use it, right? Wrong

DON'T EVER USE MEDICATIONS THAT YOU YOURSELF DID NOT PURCHASE!!!!!!!!!

I shudder to think of all the horrible things that could have happened.

Beware of Vicious Beagles!

The Princess decided to camp out on the back porch. it is enclosed with a gate, but not screened in. She went out about 9:00pm. She had her snack, her water and her nature journal. My bedroom is right off the back porch and my window was opened (just in case). She was SOOO brave for 7 years old. For every bit of 17 minutes. The she came in terror showing in her face!

Was she afraid of the mama fox and her 3 little ones that live out back? No of course not. was she afraid of the rattlesnakes of which we've killed too many to count (on the back porch even)? No don't be silly, there is no reason to be afraid of snakes. The cats would kill em. Was she afraid of the lizards? Nope, lizards don't bother people. I know, it was fear of scorpions! "No, silly mama! It was that vicious elderly beagle that lives two streets over and might get out of her fence. And she might squeeze through the rails on the porch and lick me!!!"

Maybe she will try it when she turns 8

Last Night

Last night we went to a wonderful bible study at my friend Guiia's home. She is an absolutely wonderful person. Her husband Tony is very nice, too. It was so wonderful to be with other friends. There was a hailstorm while we were there. But there was no damage that we could find in the dark.

I thank God for the beautiful time we had .

Time Out

today I have had about half of my water and i have had 600 calories. It is about 12:30 pm. I will go to my online journel tonight and log in all I have eten and done. I don't foresee any exercise as we have been working on a new contract.

Please pray for this job. It looks very promising but until contracts are signed nothing is written in stone.

I just want to take time out to go and pray and read my bible.

I will this afternoon make a list of praises and post them. I am trying to concentrate on praises and not the negative things. God is so good to me. I want to let the world know what a wonderful God he is.

The Perfect Mother Test

The Perfect Mother Test

POST: Karen Joy outlined this Perfect Womanhood Model on
a thread about Avoiding Homeschool Burnout, an ideal
that leads to burnout and depression:

I think that often, we as women, look at collective
Womanhood out there, and we piece together this
Ideal Woman that we just will never measure up to:
This woman is a size 4, this woman is always on time
with her six kids, this woman has perfectly behaved
children, this woman's kids are advanced for their
age, this woman has the perfect husband, this woman
gets a whole IG done in one year (or less!), this
woman's house is always totally clean and her
laundry and ironing never falls behind, this woman's
garden is lovely.... and on and on and on... And
it's easy to look at that fictional Ideal Woman and
get discouraged about our own seeming failures.

So . . . are you these things? I'll add one to make the
Every Woman a Perfect 10. Give yourself ONE POINT if you
ARE and a ZERO if you are not and total your score:

1. This woman is a size 4.
2. This woman is always on time with her (X) kids.
3. This woman has perfectly behaved children.
4. This woman's kids are advanced for their age.
5. This woman gets a whole IG done in one year (or
less!).
6. This woman's house is always totally clean.
7. This woman never falls behind in her laundry and
ironing (she irons!?).
8. This woman's garden is lovely.
9. This woman has the perfect husband.
10.This woman never yells at her children (or anyone
else), nor uses Yiddish.

This isn't meant to make you feel badly. It is meant to
help you know that you are probably average, which means
you're a normal sinner trying to be holy, but are
totally aware you are saved by grace.

You don't have to post your meager score unless it
amuses you to do so.

--RCGwho?

POST: I got a zero, but just because the wrong things
were asked.

The things I might get a point for . . .

1. This woman is confident and okay with herself no
matter what her size.
2. This woman owns a clock and looks at it once in a
while.
3. This woman understands that kids don't always behave
properly.
4. This woman understands that all kids are different
and encourages them in their strengths.
5. This woman can look at her kids and know that today
is a good day to forget about the IG and do something
that will shock the socks off the kiddos.
6. This woman knows that the stuff that needs done today
can wait till tomorrow (within reason of course).
7. This woman teaches her children to do their own
laundry when they are tall enough to turn the dials.
8. This woman knows that she ain’t got what it takes to
keep up a garden and names her pets after flowers.
9. This woman loves her husband, and is thankful he
loves her 'cause she ain’t perfect.
10. This woman tells her children she's sorry when she
blows it and they know she loves them even when she
isn't showing it.

--on high places

POST: I love your list! Thanks for the pick-me-up to
start my day! I will walk around today thinking, "I'm a
10. I'm a 10."

Today Please Pray for Jess

Posted in Prayer Requests

Today id an extremely rough day for Jess (my sweet husband) He is meeting with people that might  want to build a house. We really need to get a couple of more projects off the ground. He is super stressed as we are down to the wire on the 2 house we are building right now. He has stopped taking his blood pressure meds and I believe that he has been healed. His BP is not any higher than when he was taking 6 different ones. He spent his prayer time and bible reading time asking God to give him wisdom. Please join him in this prayer.

Thank You

Judy

On this Day

Originally for legislators to do research, it was begun this day, April 24, 1800, with a five thousand dollar allocation from Congress. The British set fire to it during the War of 1812, burning hundreds books, but the Library of Congress was restocked by Thomas Jefferson, who provided over six thousand volumes. It has since grown to be one of the largest libraries in the world. Relocated to its present site in 1897, the Library of Congress is inscribed with the verse: "What does the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, love mercy and walk humbly with thy God."

Update on Jess

Jess has not taken his BP meds since he got out of the hospital. He absolutely refuses. He says he was healed and that is that!

BUT....His BP is lower than it was on the meds!

He has really conformed to the 1800 calorie diet and absolutely NO salt other than is what naturally occurs in foor. we don't eat anything that has sodium. Nothing, Nada, Zip! Boy it has been hard on me but he is accepting it gracefully.

I like salt. He has lost 8 lbs in one week.

He has really turned back to God for everything. He told me this morning that if your soul does not prosper then your health nor any other aspect of your life can truly prosper.

he has decided that he will once again persue his call from God.

Praise God!

Yesterday

Yesterday went quite well. Baby AJ is learning to pull up on everything and crawls everywhere. The only hitch in our day was when he pulled up to the tv and bumped his precious little nose on the shelf. He cried very hard for a good 3 minutes. Ash was distraught when he cried. she told me that " I think I hurt him. ", upon questioning I learned that she was reading and wasn't looking right at him and therefore blamed herself that he had bumped his nose.  By the time his mommy picked him up Ash was running a fever and had diarrhea, she also is very conjested this morning. She will recover fast i am sure of it. The only thing that is worring me is the fact that she is breaking out on her legs. I think she may have poisin ive or oak. She is out of allergy meds and we must get back to the dr for that cause the perscription was a year old and i don't want to refill when she will probably get a different kind this time.

Today we will just hang out. I will probably tackle the game room, and maybe work on Ash's room. She is pretty neat but when other children come over it is a bit overwhelming to put away everything. She has too many toys in my husbands opinion but she does play with them occasionally. and only gets things for BD and Christmas except when she buys something with her own money. But she usually buys books. It will take us longer to reshelve books than anything. She has too many of those to count they have spread to every room in the house and the tree house.

Well I shall get started.

Dear God

thank You for the blessing of my family and for my home. Lord help me to glorify You in the way that I keep my home. Lord thank You for healing all our hurts and fears.

What Will We Do Today??

I really wanted to get the house finished. (I need to mop), but baby AJ is coming over here for a while his mama goes to school. And he is SOOOO cute that we may just do life skills. Ash doesn't have much opportunity to help with babies and that sort of mommy thing and I think this will be a great thing for to day. She adores AJ and really wants to help. She has hurried around here getting things pick up and ready.  I am taking lots of deep breaths cause I hope he doesn't miss his mamma too much

I never jnow how a 7 month old will react to being away from his regular life.

 Say a prayer for us.

Judy

Just school

Ashley had other plans about school and had even written a revise schedule. She decided that she would do Bible study and bible drill, science(Considering God's Creation), history(The Story Of the World-Ancient History book 1), Miquion Math, M ath U See, Spelling and Phonics (Abeka). Art was just brown paper cave paintings. She really packed a lot into her day. I guess being off school while jess was hospitalized was too much to bear. She did not put in reading because that is a given with her. She reads constantly. She works hard at understanding math but still struggles. Reading is her strong point. She was reading by 4 and has never really like anything as well. Her handwriting leaves a lot to be desired. but I remind myself that she is only 7. I do know that she is doing her best and that is all I would ever expect of her. She prefers to type everthing. But then so do I. LOL.

I had not planned to have 4 hours of school but that was her choice. I don't think she should be so concerned. and finally told her to go out and ride her bike or go swimming. she wanted to "catch up" the days that she missed.. I explained that one of the reasons that we homeschool is so that she has the freedom to be a child for as long as she needed to be. She wrote down a few notes on history and finally went outside.

Now I will try to catch up with my work.

This too shall pass

Posted in Prayer Requests

Sorry I haven't been around for a while.

This week has been quite a trial in of itself.

I had been trying to get jess to stay on his diet.....a lifestyle chage actually but with all the extreme stress it was just too hard and i had pretty much given up trying to force him to eat properly.

He woke up fine on Friday and except for the great amount of stress that he is under things were about as normal as they could be. Saturday he really seemed to be on an upswing. When he went to bed he complained of a headache but wouldn't let me take his blood pressure and blood sugar. Sunday rolled around and he was feeling pretty bad but didn't want to upset the traditional easter stuff. by Sunday evening he was very bad.

I took his blood pressure and it was very high. 10 minutes later I took it again and it was even higher.

I took him to the hospital and they tried to get it down for 9 hours. It kept going up despite all their efforts. Finally HE asked for Ashley and I to pray for him. We laid hands on him and within minutes it had started to come down. OF COURSE, the doctor said it was the medication not anything else. But I know and Jess knows and Ashley knows it was God.

After a stay in the hospital he is feeling better and is determined to stay the course. The doctor told him he was very lucky to be alive.

Poor Ashley was so distraught. She wanted to stay at the hospital with us but after they moved him to a room she couldn't stay. The night crew had let her stay in with us. She did not want to go with her sister but knew that it would not be for long. So she did not complain.

We have so much to be thankful for. Because we know that this too shal pass.

NOW we have to get back into school. That is going to take some effort on my part cause I am really tired and would just like to garden but we Must get out the MUS and probably even the Miquion. i am not too surethat I will get too much else done we may just sit together and read today. I missed reading with her. and she is pretty clingy right now. Poor baby, it is very hard for her. She will learn more about trusting in the lord from this is my prayer.

Dear Lord,

Thank You that Jess has come through this. Thank you for the gift of my husband.  Thank You for the new life that You have given. Lord help us to learn and understand the lessons that are in this situation.

In Jesus' Name I pray

Amen

Blessed Easter Memories

This was always my Daddy's favorite holiday. we always had an Egg coloring party at his house and then after church we had an easter egg hunt. OK we had 2 of them. The first was for the small kiddo's but the second was for his kids and the grown grandkids. It was so much fun. We got the be kids again. He would hide the eggs for momma and us kids ( and  some of us grandparents ourselves by then)  and we would hunt eggs with him calling warmer -hot -cold as we looked for eggs. He would put little things in plastic eggs for us as prizes. Boy I miss my daddy, but I know that someday I will see him again.

I wasn't going to have anything here this year because my precious Tif can't drive 6 hours to get here and i really haven't felt like anything but the other kids were so dissapointed that we would not have any thing. Jessica said it just won't be like Easter if we don't and then I remembered how much I looked forward to my daddy doing this for us even as an adult. After all we would have made things nice for the little one even if he had not done this. Nope this was something he did for his "kids" So I am going to "do" easter here. And we will probably have an egg hunt for the "kids" after the little one are done.

Thank God for my Daddy

Dear Lord

Thank You that You prepared a home for us. Thank You for our Precious Savior who gave His life that we might live. Thank You that my Daddy will be there when I get there.

Amen

On this day, April 13, 1743, the 3rd U.S. President was born. He approved the Louisiana Purchase and commissioned Lewis and Clark to explore it. Best known for drafting the Declaration of Independence, he was also Governor of Virginia. His name was Thomas Jefferson. Inscribed on the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C., is Thomas Jefferson's statement: "Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of the Gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever."

Internet Explorer

I have tried to go to individual sites and personally thank you'll for your words of encouragement and your prayrs and Internet explorer says it can't open  them.

HHMMM I think that I won't let that get me down but will try again later.

Or maybe I will get on Jess' computer (he has hispeed, I don't) and try from there. Any way, God bless each of you.

Now I had better go get the mail 3 week worth (I just picked up the mail for the first time in 3 weeks) and go and find which tree Ash has climbed up in to read and do some math.

maybe i will help her build a stick fort this afternoon.

we will see.

God Bless

Judy
