Homeschool Resource Review! -DOORPOSTS
Go to the Ant" chart and the "If, Then" chart
Thank you to Sara, at B* Avenue Boys School, for her review of these homeschool resources. Sara and her husband have 3 boys, and are currently using these charts with their 9-year-old son.
Wonderful Use of Scripture
"We use both the "Go to the Ant" chart and the "If, Then" chart. We really like them because they use Scripture to explain to the child why their behavior is wrong. Most children in Christian homes have a better respect for God than for their human parents...probably because He doesn't mess up like the parents. lol. Anyway, this helps them to see how they are disobeying God and that it's not just Mommy and Daddy making up the rules, but they are actually God's rules.
Flexible to Fit Your Family I really like that you can input your own disciplinary measures on the "If, Then" chart to work for your own family. I'm not a fan of most parenting programs because there is always at least one thing I disagree with or never worked for our kids, so anything that lets us use what we have observed to work with out children is greatly appreciated. "
On Plants Grown Up "We have used "Plants Grown Up" in the past but we were not very pleased with their ideas...again, most parenting "programs" just don't match up exactly with our beliefs and our children, so we just don't use them. "
HTH. God Bless. Sara
