Walking Therein

Great Visit, Happy to be Home Again

I will be posting little stories from our trip, but I do have a lot of catching up to do, after being gone for almost a full week! Our DD's, 1dd162dd15, and 3dd12 will be updating and telling tales, I'm sure!

My children threw open the van doors and RAN to the house!  Daddy! Daddy! Da-a-a-ddy!!

When we were 10 miles from home, it set in that WE WERE HOME! Don't get me wrong, we had a wonderful, happy, dear visit with family, but WE WERE HOME!

I woke up at 5am this morning and came downstairs to get a drink of water.  When I hit the bottom of the stairs, and looked at our dining room, in the darkness, I was just relieved to be home. It was a surprising feeling.  I did enjoy myself away from home for the past week, fishing with the kids; seeing Aunts and my Grandma; talking to Dad and getting to know his wife, Debbie. It was a very fruitful time. We were welcomed with open arms and made to feel like we were just part of the household. It was good.  That's why the feeling of relief was so surprising.

I have been walking around today, thankful for our home, thankful for being home.  I really do love our home.  I love being home.  I really do desire to keep our home and make it a place of peace and joy for My Sweetie and our dear children.  I don't mind doing dishes, making meals, watching and teaching our children. -learning from our children!

We had little to no access to the internet; we were 20m from the nearest town, and I didn't really know where anything was, but that was ok. Babyboy couldn't get down much because there were 5 dogs who didn't know him, but that was ok, because I had my new Ergo (YAY!).

I guess what I am saying is that it wasn't where I was, but where I wasn't. I know that I love the God-given Blessing of staying home to educate our children and TRY to fulfill the role of Titus 2 Woman.  I know all of this, but, as with many things, I didn't realize how much I truly appreciate it. I also didn't realize how deeply ingrained it is into my soul. I awoke this morning with a soul-filled satisfaction that I was in my home. You know, the home I left with feelings of 'I wish this' and 'I wish that."

I cannot wait to get into our garden and work in the yard.  I am looking forward to continuing to work out of the Clean Heart, Clean Home Organizer. I am planning to use it as a guide to keep our home de-cluttered!

I am so thankful that God chose to bestow this wonderful family on me at this time.  I enjoy all of my children. I am looking forward to some quiet time with My Sweetie. What a wonderful re-realization as we celebrate Mother's Day tomorrow.  God really showed me His meaning for me to be a wife and Mom.

Thank you, LORD.  You did it again - Just in time!

Glad you had a good time visiting family. It is so nice to be HOME again, though isn't it? I feel exactly the same when I have been away for a while - it's sort of dis-orienting for a while, but then you just get this warm feeling of being back where you belong. Happy Mother's Day for tomorrow (we celebrated Mother's Day back in March over here in England)!!

Hey there!

I'm glad you're back! Just read your comment and wanted to say hi!

I know just the longing that you have for your home to be a haven. Savor those precious feelings of "HOME" as it is a passing thing here. That is but a reflection or shadow of the feeling we will have when we really get there... Home. Aren't you glad Jesus is spending so much time getting it ready for us. Imagine how perfect it will be! What a wonderful thought. :) Anyway, your post made me think.

Once again, I'm glad you're back and I'll see ya around ;)

Glad your home again. It's fun to be gone but it is also fun to be home.

Hi

Thanks for stopping by my blog, and for the link on yours.
We are so blessed to be home and to love being home. I do like to travel and visit, but...well...I hate to say this-pardon the pun, but there's no place like home! I'm sure if you were gone without Daddy that made it even more wonderful. I've visited for a week without my dh once, and we all missed him terribly. Even though, we loved our family we were visiting, we had a hard time enjoying the time being away from him. Have a blessed week.
