Something New

I hope I have something new to post about.
Frankly, I got tired of opening my page and seeing all the html.  LOL!!

We have been in the garden, of course.  I have never grown potatoes... we are covering up the plants - pretty neat! All 6 rows!  The corn is about waist-high in places. We just planted our last batch... can't find my Lima Bean seeds.... ) :  Wanted to plant one last batch of those, too!
Zucchini and Cukes are starting to climb... tomatoes are almost to the fences, ready to climb those.

We had one of our favorite meals tonight... beans and rice and Flautas.... Rolled Tacos to you's gringos (like us).
Matt's favorite - he was born & raised in NM.  The only thing we were missing was the girls' famous homemade whole wheat tortillas
   -> That's only because their
DAD took them to see the Pirates of the Carribean.... I wanted to go, too.  I wasn't feeling well, though... ) ;  So, back to our Mexican Cuisine tonight... We ate when they got back... it was wonderful, of course.
   Myrtle
made some homemade salsa (I gotta get these recipes on HSB2)...

My Mother is here from New Mexico.  She drove all 1500+miles... no, I won't call her crazy, because I have done it before with 5 of our children.
I am so very glad she made it safely, though.
She was in St.Louis for 2 1/2 hours, trying to get a couple of miles.  Apparently, the intelligent ones (whoever they may be) decided that it would be a good day to convert 4 lanes of traffic into 1 - yes, I said 1 lane - and, well, they frustration just happened from there... imagine that!  AND she took the SHORTCUT through!!!
No, Ole St. Louie is actually kinda' neat to drive by the Arch. Of course, like most built-up towns, they have pretty much destroyed the natural beauty of the scenery.

It's summertime.... many of you have gone on vacations that include driving through a couple of - or several states.... what did you find beautiful???
Canadagirl... as much as the girls are dying to get up there... it may be a LOONG time, so, tell me about some beautiful spots there!! We want to visit PEI - only due to its Anne of Green Gables fame... though, I think that is in the OPPOSITE direction from you!
I have been through: Indiana (of course), Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennesee, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, New Mexico and Arizona. A few of the states I drove at night, so I can't comment on their beauty. Most of them I can.
I love Indiana in the fall - the leaves.  I also love the Springtime here, when everything starts to bloom and the birds start to fill the trees.  I like the mountains in Missouri. They are like those in southern IN, with the different layers of colors.

And, those remind me of the most beautiful layered mountains I drove through a few years back in TX... it was like a sand jar.... perfect layers of beautiful colors.  And, the Mesilla Valley in Las Cruces, NM... Mountains all around.  The only bad thing about the view is that you forget about it after you live there awhile and you have to move away and visit to really appreciate them.
Not much to say about IL.  LA was too hot. And too busy. We were there, in Baton Rouge, about 15yrs. ago.  Need to go back and visit relatives soon, though. Texas is a loo-oo-ong state to go through, no matter which way you drive! It also varies in terrain and climates!
Well, it seems everyone I know here has either lived in a state or visited one, so tell me what you think.... and the state of Confusion doesn't count!!!

Illinois...lmboooo!

3:41 AM, Saturday, July 8, 2006 .. Posted by MommylovesRJ
Not much to say about Illinois, eh? Well, I'd say yu've hit THAT nail on the head. As someone who was born in Iowa (gorgeous), and have lived from the east coast to the west coast, how on earth I ended up in central Illinois, is beyond me. It is flat. It is windy. There is little foilage. It is bitter cold in the winter due to their being no hills. Did I mention it is flat?! Yeah. Illinois. Party.

BTW, I hope you're feeling better!

:)

God bless

The Beautiful Kootenay's

12:34 PM, Tuesday, July 11, 2006 .. Posted by Canadagirl
Oh now I get to brag about the corner of the earth that God blessed me to live in. I have to give a extra tid bit about the statement I just said. The one place I told God I would never move it to the Nelson, ( in the Kootenay's) and that is exactly where he called me. lol. I remember when we were visiting my MIL and I was waiting for my hubby while he was in the bank. I heard in my head " move to Nelson" right away I said to God ... " No way I can't move here it's toooo close to my MIL. " Well when my hubby came in the car. I told him what happened and that we are suppose to move to the Kootenay's. His mouth dropped to say the least. lol. Now we are here and I can't imagine to be anywhere else. lol.

There are some gorgous spots here in the Kootenay's. I want to find the pic's that I took on a hike in the " Old Growth Forest" , I miss placed the roll to be developed. Also another place to go hiking is " Fletcher Falls " that is behind my boy's and I in my avatar. The beaches are sooo nice and sometimes a bit cool but very refreshing here and the price is perfect.... FREE. There are alot more hikes here so if anyone gets up here there is alot of free and natureful stuff to do. I will be trying to add more pics to my blogg to add more to the Kootenay's Theme .

The pic at the top of my blog is one of the sets of Mt's that are surrounding us. We live in a vally of Mt.'s . Oh , I can't forget to say there is the World's Longest FREE Ferry Ride here just a few miles from our house.

I hope I didn't stir up trouble with your sweet dd's I just love getting to know you guys and as I said before I have a open door to y'all.
In Him,
