- Why Christian parents should strongly consider homeschooling their Little Blessings fro the LORD
- What is keeping you from homeschooling?
- Are you unsure that you can homeschool?
- What real education is, and why it can only be done properly at home;
I have many posts floating around in my head, but not typed up - though there are oodles - and I mean oodles - of Scriptures and information to help you with the homeschool decision!! I just have to collect my thoughts and get them presentable. Oooh, for more time in our days!
Anyway, I want to remind you that you should read Gena's blog
weekly- and sometimes daily- to get the deep information on whay you should Keep Them Home Where They Belong!!! I say remind you, because you probably already know about Gena's blog and just forget to go there, in your daily busyness.
If you have not been to her blog, then I will tell you that she not only posts information every parent should consider about the values of homeschooling,
- Socialization or Socializing? Dispelling Myths
- In Order to Homeschool, You Must Report to Big Brother....
- Finding An Experienced Guide
Some of these posts are not ones you want even your teens standing behind you reading.
We need to keep our children's hearts innocent, and while some of us as homeschool parents are not called to investigate or report the sins and downright atrocities of the pss, we are all called to know what our children are in danger of in our own government and society.
We cannot even imagine what we are dealing with, and what our Christian friends and family are in danger of when they entrust those Little (and not-so-little) Gifts From The LORD to so many people-teachers, administrators and peers- that they don't even know. The pss has become something out-of-control and unrecognizeable as a place of education, not indoctrination.
And, you have to remember that, if you are doing as the LOrd tells you and you homeschool your children and then take them to church, where they are in classes without you, with children who do attend ps, that they are playing with children who are placed in a sinful, vulnerable place 3/4 of the year. Add to that the fact that many are then left to their own devices at play-groups, summer camps, sports team events and the like through the summer, as well as the school-year, it becomes something important to consider.
These are the children you are placing your homeschooled children with in Youth Group, Children's Church, Sunday School Classes, and you need to know the things that these children are exposed to, that they may expose your child/ren to, under your very nose!
So, with that said - and this direction was not my intention or thought when I started this post, so Someone must be telling us something - I encourage you to put Gena, TOS Publisher, on your friends' list -and also, Spunky, because she is a watchdog for this type of information too. I do not have time to research these things. I do not listen much to radio or tv, and have a different vision for my blog. Their blogs are well-established and always containing valuable information pertaining to pro-homeschool legislation, interviews and stories about homeschooling benefits and exposing the detriments of the pss.

I totally agree with you. We are searching for a church right now and this is something that has ruled out MANY churches in our search. It seems that now days you are looked down on for not putting your children in these settings. Don't get me wrong camp is great for reaching lost children but not for Christians. I read that 50% of Christians who had relations before marriage lost their virginity at a church function.
