1dd16's School Schedule and How She is Becoming A Beautiful Woman of God
I am so glad that 1dd16 made this easy for me! She posted an excellent blog about her schedule for this year. She even added some studies that I need to "count", like her 'internship' with SoulRest! I am still trying to get the schedules for our 7 in order for at least the next 9 weeks.... well, that's what I'm shooting for, anyway! I figure if I get 6, that will be great for now. I have found it a bit of a chore this year for a few reasons:
#1. I am still reading up on the Heart of Wisdom Teaching Approach, so I am still getting thoughts in order of the goals for this year; #2. I do not have a rigid schedule we stick to for school. We are more unschoolers, and follow where ther study leads us. I have had to keep better records and such for 1dd16 and 2dd15, who are now in "high school". I am going to have to implement our methods into the schedule HOW has in mind. #3. I am still getting ideas for projects and books, etc. in order for the different eras we will be covering, as well as trying to plan what scrapbooking we will be doing. Add those things to the normal, everyday experiences many of us share - keeping a home (that makes it sound too simple!... laundry, cleaning, cooking, caring for children, training them), gardening/canning, sticking to that path to Biblical Womanhood, trying to find the time to run SoulRest ES!, expecting our next little joy (basically fighting fatigue!), etc., and I sometimes feel like my brain is a big pile of mush. I know you know what I mean! So, dear Amanda -SuperAngel, has posted a lovely blog about: Education. My 2006-2007 Homeschooling Year. Here is a bit of it:
For awhile I decided that if my kids wanted to go to a Christian/Private school when they were in High School that I would give them that choice. Some of the reason for this was the people I hung out with all went to a Christian school. I wanted so much to be able to go to school with my friends and I didn’t think that my MOM was actually homeschooling me the way that she should. Sometimes I felt like I was stupid because I hadn’t done school that day or because they would talk about something educational that I hadn’t learned. And I thought that a couple of the guys might be potential prospects for marriage. But this last year I have had blinders been peeled off my eyes and have come to see the real nature of people and things in my life. It is a beautiful thing to see your child grow into a kind, loving, Godly adult. You don't know when it happens; but one day, you look up and realize you have a friend and confidante who loves you and wants the best for you as much as you want for her. God is so good. It is no wonder He gives us so much in His Word we need to cling to and so many commands and promises about training and teaching these precious gifts for Him. We need to stop relying on the opinions of the world and even the preachers and totally delve into Him so that we may be found tried and true on that day. May I be blessed by Him again and again as our children grow in Him and all He has for their lives. I know He will be faithful; LORD, help me to be!!

What a beautiful post by your daughter. That must feel great for you to see her growing into such a godly young woman. And with a great gift for communicating too!

P.S. Since coming across your blog a while ago I have beeen reading up on HOW. It is very interesting and different to many other approaches. I like it.
What a lovely post!
How much I long for the time when my girls can understand why I do what I do. My 1dd8 tries so hard to please, but she still doesn't always understand the whys of homeschooling and so forth.
