Rachel -13: The Robe by Lloyd C. Douglas
Eric - 9: Jeb Stuart by Gertrude Hecker Winders (his first book, really -he couldn't finish The Hobbit!)
Hannah - 6: Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder (her first book)

Previously read:
Amanda: The Robe by Lloyd C. Douglas
Jocelyn: Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, and Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen
Rachel: The Bronze Bow by Elizabeth George Speare

    Bible time went fairly well this morning. It took forever, though! I am confident it won't when I get this system down better. I did enjoy seeing them do some hands-on work and writing for each chapter. The Old testament is so full of things we don't hear from the pulpit, and we got to get into the meat of it! I am happy to take the reins and give our children a full-time Bible Study in all of their subjects! -That is, when Daddy isn't home to do it! ( ;
    I was also happy that we got to focus a bit on the Ten Commandments, since that will be one of the Scripture sections we will be memorizing! 3 of them drew the tablets and we printed the Commandments off to fit onto them. It will be fun to make folders out of all of their work!

    We have also enjoyed (for several months now) watching the Nest videos of OT people. We have: Joseph in Egypt, Elijah, Elisha, Esther, Daniel and Samuel just from the OT. I have enjoyed seeing thnigs that are sometimes left out of 'the story'. Our whole family has had discussion and gotten our Bibles out to check for accuracy and additional information on some of these great people of our Christian history.
for His glory-

All of this sounds so good. My daughter just finished Little House in the Big Woods (not by herself yet). She is also six. We are now working on the next book in the series. God bless your Bible time with your family.

Thank you for all the great info you gave me on my blog re: math ideas /Saxon /ABeka. Nearly every person I know who actually doesn't have "problems" teaching math seems to use Saxon. I think that's good proof it works nicely.
I saw in your profile that you live in IN. I don't know where your city is, but we live in Fishers, IN! I've saved your website/store in my favorites to peruse later, and I'm looking forward to checking out your blog. It looks full of great things ~ what a blessing. Thanks again, and a hearty Hoosier Hello!!
