Plants Grown Up/Polished Cornerstones and Reading Lists

MominPA asked me about Plants Grown Up and the Reading Lists we have for our children:
I love all of the Doorposts curriculum. I used that a bit last year, but Eric wasn't reading then, so I haven't gotten him into it enough yet. In looking over it, though, it -as well as Polished Cornerstones- can be used as a full-time curriculum or to supplement what you are using.
I have been struggling with getting all we need done as a family with 7 children, so I am slowly adding what we can. When Eric is a more proficient reader, which will be soon, I will assign him chapters to work through.
At this time, the HOW is completely Bible-focused curriculum, so I am using this alone. The older girls are able to use the Polished Cornerstones, and it is wonderful in the fact that it includes all different areas of study, i.e.: writing, Bible, history, science, etc. They both do.
If you have time to - or your husband does, Plants Grown Up/Polished Cornerstones is a wonderful study and is made for several ages.
As far as their book lists:
I do have age-related lists made up, compiling from some I already had and adding newer books or even classics that are sometimes left out. I went to the Indiana pages on what they are teaching students (ahem, yikes!) and took a look at the books they have for the different ages. I crossed off the gobbledy-gook nonsense and politically-correct ones, as well as any that are racy (not in a factual manner, persay, but a promiscuous manner, I guess). I did add books that will lead our children in the direction of the Lord, which is not the direction of some lists.
I have not really had a hard time getting our children to read, because they love learning, and they love doing it through books.

A few weeks ago, I noticed our old copy of David Copperfield -that I had bought from the library, and is pretty old - laying on top of the bookshelf it belongs in. I figured BabyBoy (18m) had pulled it out, so I asked why it was out.... Amanda said, "Because I'm reading it."  "Oh, ok," I said, surprised. After that were a few comments by her sisters about Oliver Twist and how confusing it was, and Jocelyn and Rachel decided they would try reading it when they were older.....  haha.
for His glory-
