Some informative homeschool reads!
JoJo posted this really important post that you, as a homeschooler, should read to make sure you avoid cetain actions, so as not to totally abuse your children!!!

JJese posted something that is no longer astonishing to me: Is America raising girls gone wild? I particularly love the fact that we need to ask the opinions of the teens themselves about whether culture and such is affecting them or right or wrong! As if a culturally-bred 16yo can answer that question maturely!
In the same vein, there is A Debate going on at a local junior/senior ps about 'censorship', because a teacher allowed a student to post her editorial opinion on the 'fact' that homos*xuality is 'not so bad'. No one ran it by any upper-level administration or advisors, and now all articles must be approved. The teen who wrote it about her homos*xual friend said she and her friends in senior and junior high are mature enough to read about such things, etc. and she didn't understand the big deal about it (my paraphrase from viewing her interview).
Assistant EACS Superintendent and former journalist Dr. Andy Melin says he wouldn't have let the article be published in its current state; but, he says the content is not what he had a problem with, but journalism advisor Amy Sorrell and Megan Chase feel that's censorship and plans to fight...
Um, yeah, we *all* think we're mature enough to make such decisions at 16, don't we?? Too bad life isn't as it used to be when 16 actually *was* an age of maturity!
The kicker was that they had no problem printing the article on Teen Pregnancy!!
