Bragging On My Children - Oh the Joys!

Yes, I am bragging on my children again...
Ok, I'm going to brag on Jocelyn15 right now.
Do you like Pride and Prejudice? She just designed the cutest template! Go and take a look!!
I guess I can take turns and brag on them all, though, can't I??
Jocelyn has been through a few rough days, and I am proud to say that she has not waivered in her spirit. She has kept a loving, gentle and cooperative spirit, and I am so proud of her clinging to the Lord, instead of giving in to despair and tiredness (which I KNOW she was experiencing!!).

Amanda17 has been taking care of the horses, and- and this is a big and - she has helped so much with all that has been going on. She literally helped me deliver the breech stillborn goat kid the other day. I know that is something I am sure she never expected to do... she held its feet up it as we delivered it.
Then, since Heidi was so sick, she administered the shots of penicillin. First time ever to do anything like that.  She had said she would do it, and I think she was surprised when I had her do it! She went to Tractor Supply and got the supplies with her Dad and came home and did it. She did great!

Rachel13 - what can I say about Rachel? She has been my dinner supervisor every night for the past few weeks! She calls me down at the barn to ask if this is ok or if this is how you make that(according to the Menu Planner), and she has started making dinner so it would be done in time, without being asked.
It has been *so* nice to not worry about it. She has freed-up Jocelyn, Amanda and me to do all the other things going on around here. That is something to definitely be proud of! She has been leading the Littles to help too, training them in what they need to know and do.

Eric9 is just his old self. He helps wherever we need him to. He is invaluable in bringing hot water to the barn, cleaning out horse stalls with Amanda, lugging bales of hay from the top to the bottom of the barn, and generally anything that needs to be done. He has had so much fun watching his new buckling, Cowboy, jumping and playing in the stall. I think he ran up to the house for me 10 times yesterday, because I needed hot water, towels, molasses mix, whatever.

Hannah7 did a great job on her Haiku the other day. It is such a joy to hear our children desire to learn. I wasn't going to give her the assignment, because, frankly, I knew that I could squeeze it in with the others, but I hadn't thought about having her do it. She heard me explaining it to Eric and asked me to help her write hers. I explained what things were, and she did it pretty much all by herself!
She has also been halping Rachel preparing dinner. I come in for a break and there she is peeling carrots or chopping potatoes. YAY!

    Isaac3 cracked us up last night! He spilled his water and got his shirt wet. That isn't what was so funny... he wanted a towel to clean it up, which he and Caleb always do - run and get a towel immediately! Anyway, he wanted a new shirt and Daddy said he didn't need one. So, we all went on talking and soon I  looked up and just burst out laughing! He was standing up, with the regular-sized towel stuffed intp his shirt, just going about his business. He must have figured that if he couldn't take his wet shirt off, he would get the wet off of him. It was so cute. I couldn't believe he wasn't 'bothered' by that giant towel, but that's how they are, isn't it? ( ;
God is moving in his little heart as he learns to speak to Caleb when he takes something from Isaac, instead of getting angry.

Caleb22m is wearing training undies now. He just came in to tell me he pottied on the big potty. (Eric took him!)  He *loves* the horses... LOVES them. He says horses and goats. Of course, that means that he wants to go see them... right now. I told him last night to wait a bit (which he did, yay!), and then later Amanda told him to get his socks and shoes and he ran upstairs, got them with the help of Rachel, and went and got his coat... he was happy to go!
He has also been helping me take my vitamins. Do you know how much Littles enjoy putting things into your mouth for you? Today, he shared his raisins by holding some up to my mouth to have!

Isaac and Caleb have missed me so much since I have had to be in the barn lately. I have been getting extra kisses and hugs lately, which I thoroughly enjoy.

What did your children do this week to bless you?

And, my dh deserves a little bragging on too... I haven't been up here at the house too much for about a week, due to *both* does kidding, but he has been very encouraging through it all.  He even went to the store with Amanda on Thursday after work because I had been up so long. He let me sleep most of the day last Sunday after I was up all night and helped with the house. I so appreciated it! And, I *did* tell him!

Be Blessed Today!!

-Jacque

I love all your "brags" today! I, too, enjoy this time in life when all the children are home--the olders so helpful, the middles eager to please, and littles adorable and learning.
How are you feeling as you get closer to your due date?

Brag Away!
