FYI- Javascript is still on ... etc.- Homeschool Blog Awards
OK -it is only temporary... so, if you want to change yours.... HURRY! but, Jocelyn has taken off my snowmen - YAY! And, added some really cute spring -summer graphics!
Be sure to go to the HSB Tech Help blog and find any recent updates and info about the technical stuff. Thanks to Jodi for getting back to me and helping me out with the tech-y stuff. She also let me know that they are compiling a list of 'safe javescript' and if you want to add something to it, to keep on your blog, "please forward them to me so our web tech can add them to the allowed list." All of that info is on the HSB Tech blog.
I still need to change my counter up there, where the snow is still flying (except that the snow actually *IS* flying here right now!!) - I *know* - can you believe it?? Yes, it is 29' here in good 'ole weather-changes-every-5m Indiana. And, it is *snowing*! I can honestly blame Canadian weather, as it is comin' down from the North! The Great Lakes area was supposed to get 4-8". YUCK! Ok, enough meteorology.
Which, reminds me... I coulda' put this on my Non-Traditional Learning post: I have a Google sidebar on my new laptop that I can program cities into that tells their current weather and the hi/lo for that city. We have 3 presently, and it is amazing to see how the temps and weather vary at certain times and mirror each other at other times. It is an attention grabber. I was thinking tonight.... I wonder what effect, if any, it will have on our children's interests in science and weather.
Speaking of science interests... Paulie posted an *excellent* post on the planets and ASTRONOMY. I didn't comment to him yet about the fact that he stole my post... not really (and he did a much better detailed post than I would have!) I had started typing up about the next study I am making up - yep, planets. We rec'd our last Nat'l Geographic mag and it had a nice huge poster of the new planets and subplanets - or whatever they are calling them nowadays. It is very nice, and I think -as soon as the weather gets back to normal - it will be nice to go outdoors and investigate the stars and planets up close IRL.
ANd... fyi, in case you don't keep up on this... Amanda and Jocelyn were nominated in a few categories for the Homeschool Blog Awards. They both do a great job, so it isn' a surprise. Voting starts April 9th, so give them your vote if you like their blogs and what they stand for!
That's all for now... I have to get my rest, you know!!
Blessings!!
-J
