Where have all of my homeschool posts gone?
~ lol ~
Well, homeschooling has taken a, um, turn... good thing we do it all year-round.
This is what we are mostly doing as of late:

Enjoying Baby Girl (Raspberry PixieMuffin)

Baby Girl 02               04-14-0706.jpg

It seems I am getting newsletters and reading some blogs about the year coming to an end or slowing down. I know we won't be slowing down anytime soon. Of course, life doesn't stop around here, so neither does the learning!
This past week, we have also been:
    changing diapers and caring for a new Baby Girl,
    playing chess (Jocelyn wanted to practice up to play Luke Suarez - Paulie and Levi got in on the chess challenge, too),
    Learning about training horses,
    learning more about milking goats and storing raw milk (wanna buy some?),
    drawing and studying birds we see at the feeders,
    learning life's lessons about setting a good example as a big brother,
    cleaning, cleaning, cleaning, because we were expecting company,
    preparing for Grandma's visit,
    caring for our seedlings & planning for the garden;

DSC00342.jpg
    figuring out a way for Amanda to pay for her vet bill...

Ok, that has to fit into some learning category, because she sure is learning life's lessons about:
how expensive horses can be;
how expensive horse feed can be;
having 2 horses is *twice* as expensive as having one!!!;
you *have* to call the vet (Dr.) when the animals are sick;
you can't always take people at their word... and even if they aren't 'trying' to lie, they just may not know what they are talking about!;
get an expert when making a major purchase!

Ok, so, some of this seems a little silly... isn't it fun?
    To think, I used to spend all of my time watching tv and movies, scrapbooking, spending time with friends away from home, leading ministries to others (than my own family), going out to eat...
    I am so much happier in the barn with our children and their animals, researching all the new homestead-y things we are learning and teaching our daughters to be Keepers at Home!
    We are all so happy with what God has given us at this time in our lives. I am so thankful to be home with this new Little Bundle, loving her with all 7 of her siblings, learning about God and His Word together as we walk and talk together!!

Be Blessed today!

***Please pray for a family/friends who just lost their baby. I think she was about 3-4m along. They are a homeschooling family and have 5 children.***
Continue to pray for Chrissy, Heather and Nicole, who are all dealing with cancer. Check the top of my L sidebar for others in need of prayer.

I think it was Diane Hopkins who once wrote an article called "The Baby IS the Lesson"...

We also school year round... gives more breathing room for those "unschooling" times! :)

Hello again!

I just found the comment you left on my blog. Very tricky to find..... you started backwards! I knew there was a new comment, but I didn't find it right away. Can you tell I'm still new at this whole blog thing? :-)

Your baby girl is a beauty! I loved the pictures! and I love your attitude about life not stopping, so neither does the learning! AMEN! We did a "baby" unit study for 6 months when I had Lily! It's all "school" as far as I'm concerned!

Enjoy the weekend. The weather is supposed to be nice...perfect for out-doorsy farm folks like you! I have bulbs to plant. yeah!

I stopped by specifically so I could see if you had selected a name for Raspberry Pixie Muffin ~ not a name I would have chosen, but... somehow it fits your beautiful little one!

If I had girls, I was going to name them Hodos (the way), Aletheia (the truth) or Zoe (the life). I also considered Damaris, a reminder of the woman converted by Paul in Acts. I changed my mind when I learned that the name means, "Heifer.:

It is a good thing that my kids all came prenamed by their birth families. My husband wouldn't have agreed to any of them...

Congratulations! Sorry I didn't stop by sooner, but I'm hardly reading any blogs at the moment. I haven't even logged into my bloglines account for two weeks!

She is beautiful, as you know! Enjoy...and watching them with siblings is another joy I can't quite explain...
