On Training Our Daughters and Sons
Titus 2 Check List:
3The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness,
not false accusers,
not given to much wine,
teachers of good things;
4That they may teach the young women to be sober,
to love their husbands,
to love their children,
5To be discreet,
chaste,
keepers at home,
good,
obedient to their own husbands,
that the word of God be not blasphemed.
6Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
7In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works:
in doctrine shewing uncorruptness,
gravity,
sincerity,
8Sound speech, that cannot be condemned;
that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
Did you notice that mathematics, english, science, history, college, a high-paying job, etc. are not what we are told to excel in or live?
I am not a very patient Mom a lot of times. I want things done correctly and properly. I get upset when things aren't done 'just right', because I don't have time to do them over or talk about it *again*.
I thought the other day, though, "Would I rather raise a bunch of geniuses or a bunch whose hearts are after the One True God's?" Not a tough decision.
So, Mom, get over it. Ok. Somewhere else I have work to do on me to change. No biggie, I'll just add it to the list!

It is such an honor to be entrusted with raising God's warriors, isn't it?
My oldest daughter has been in a Keepers Of Faith Club here for the last three years. Skills I did not learn (or taught) as a girl, I am learning right along side my dd! We do not have Contenders For The Faith for boys, but we do have a homeschool Christian cubscouts group that meets at the same time & place. What a blessing these resources are to fill in some of the gaps we miss.
