She Has A Name -Sort Of

First of all, it's pretty bad when you keep asking your husband for a final decision on the Baby's name because you know "everyone is waiting" to know what it is. It's especially bad when you know all of your blogger friends are waiting and you are just dying to be able to blog SOMETHING!!!
Second of all... it is *not*, I tell you,
NOT a conspiracy, regardless of how obsessed Christina has become!!!
*big grin, and maybe a few chuckles!!*
It's nice that she and maybe some of you check daily, but c'mon, a plan to *get* you here??? I don't think the hormones have cleared my system enough to come up with such a plan yet, actually!!! LOL

Here is the story I wrote down about choosing PixieMuffin's name. I wrote it literally days ago, because I just *knew* Matt would pick out a name right  away, given free reign to do so...HAH!
April 27th, 2007
Baby Girl was 1 day shy of 3 weeks old, and still we had not picked out a name for her. I loved the name Lillie. We were stuck between that and Lucy, which I had also come up with, because it was Matt's Grandmother's name. I couldn't choose between the 2, and they really didn't go well together. At this point, I really didn't care if they did or not and was ready to name her Lucy Lillie.  I knew that Matt really wasn't dead-set on anything. He wouldn't give a definite yes on Lucy or Lillie, though he knew I was really hoping for Lillie. He said he didn't know and really didn't care one way or the other. He liked Lucy and Lillie. I was really getting irritated.
As I sang to her and talked to her that rainy afternoon, I gazed into her sweet little eyes and asked her, "What is your name, Little Girlie?". To my surprise, her gentle eyes told me so deeply into my spirit only this: "My name is whatever my Daddy wants it to be so I will grow up to love and respect him and become a God-honoring, respectful daughter to him." Tears welled up in my eyes as I contemplated these words.  I felt them deep into my heart, as though she was speaking them along with the Holy Spirit. I softly, gently and tearfully responded to our precious new little daughter, saying, "I can do that, my precious little girl. I will do that."

From that day on, I have been calling her Lucy, much to my children's dismay. They liked Lillie more, too. I was still hoping for Lillie as a middle name, whether it sounded good together or not. Matt came home the next day with Abigail or Allison. I vetoed Allison, with his approval. I said Abigail was ok, if he liked it, but I wasn't thrilled with it. So, still undecided on her middle name at this point, I decided in the next few days that I would give on hoping for Lillie. I text messaged about 8 names I would put with Lucy and sent them.

Long story short, we are still deciding on a middle name. (sorry all...)
He did come home today and tell me that Lucy Lillie or Lillie Lucy is ok with him, because it isn't all about him, and he knows I really like the name. We didn't decide definitely, because, well, he still likes another name we came up with, and I want him to be sure.

I did tell him that if we don't use Lillie, I reserve the right to use it if we are blessed with another daughter and I still want to use the name!! Thought I would take the pressure off... still didn't work!! Maybe I can blog a middle name tomorrow!
Of course, her name could be Lillie Lucy tomorrow, too...
There... welcome to our indecisive world...

(And, no, it usually doesn't take us this long!!!!)

That was a really good post, I really liked the journal entry. So now she has a first name, and it's the one I liked anyway. =D I knew Lucy was a good name!

I do have to admit that Lucy Lillie does sound a little funny, but it's kinda' cute! Actually I think I like it!

I do know that you can name your kids good though, because you named one of them Eric. That is a really good name ;)

Anyway, I am the first to congratulate you, so Congrats! Now I just need to come see the baby...

I will get around to nominating your family, I haven't been nominating much, did a few people today but thats it. Maybe I could mass nominate y'all? Then I wouldn't have to post individual comments. I know that all your blogs are purposeful, so I know you all qualify. =D

And yes I am still up, I'm always up!

Eric

Lol. I love quietcajun's conspiracy theory!! I *have* been checking your blogs much more than usual lately!! It sounds like you're getting close to making a final decision, though.

I just don't understand! Lucy and Lillie are both lovely names. Try rock-paper-scissors, that's how we finalize controversial decisions here at our house. ;-) Lol

God bless!!
Love,
Sylvia

PS I am going to add you to my friend's list if you don't mind. :-) I check your blog often and I enjoy reading your posts, but I haven't taken the time to comment too many times. Plus, I already have pretty much 20 different Dixon blogs on my list...why not add one more, right?? ;-)

How about Naomi for a name? or, Lillian -- you could call her Lillie (Lily)?
