When I was nominated for the Thinking Blogger Award, originally in February or something, I never got around to reciprocating the award. I was a little busy catching and waiting on baby goats.
I did, though, get to the original blog site of the award to check out the author. It was kinda' a neutral feeling. I knew he wasn't a Believer, but I didn't give it much more thought at the time. Then, I get to know these 2 great young men a bit better (through their blogs), and I start thinking about the thinking award. The original author doesn't reflect what I want to be termed as a thinker of. You know? I blog with a purpose, so I want to be recognized for thinking in the general direction of that purpose.
So, I was given the thinking award 2 more times after I found this all out, which then brought the total nominations to 4. I still did nothing.
So, now that Paulie and Eric have Jocelyn's Award icons finished, I am ready to sit down and choose who to hand out these prestigious labors of love to.
I really don't even remember who gave the awards. Ok, I remember that Babymakers did. Thank you, Rachel! I would have to look the others up on comments, and I am sorry, but I guess I am just too lazy!! Being a goat midwife and then birthing my own Little Lulu and having a newborn now for 2 months has taken its toll on what I remember and what I push to the back of the memory file! Sorry!
I'll be frank: With all we have to do around here, not to mention 3 other bloggers and dial-up, I really don't get to visit too many other blogs!! But, I do have those I try to get to. Many times I just can't comment, but I read when I can. There are so many inspirational, encouraging, wonderful bloggers out there, I could *never* read them all... let alone comment or give them an award!!
So, Jocelyn awarded me her award and Eric awarded me his award. Now I get to choose as many as I can think of (big task lately!) to award these to.
Oh, and Christine also awarded me Eric's award, too! So, I am just going to start handing it out! I am sure I am forgetting some super-fantastic blogger on whose blog I comment or just read all the time... don't worry, I'll get around to you! I'll just award it later.
Amanda amazes me so often with her insight to things. She is a very charismatic young lady, but also very private and personal. This makes her a very mature, enjoyable friend to have and a lovely daughter to be around. She gives me and others much cause to reflect on things. She is a true blessing in my life.
She, at 17, is also writing for NJAO, The Girlhood Home Companion Magazine, and has started The Carnival of Homesteading and a Secret Sisters for Young Ladies with her sister, Jocelyn.
Robin Sampson, Heart of Wisdom - There is much to say about Robin. I love this woman; I love her homeschool method. She is a real, down-to-earth lady, and someone to aspire to be like. Like everyone elde on this list, she is the real deal. Her posts are full of scripture, wisdom, reflecting. She is a true follower of the One True God and not afraid to tell you. When you leave her blog you feel you know her better and have just been to a Bible study. She is a lovely lady, and I am happy to know her.
Sprittibee - What a fun an inspirational blogger. I visit every couple of days to see what new idea or thoughts she may have. She also posts a lot about her homeschooling, in great detail. I love seeing her pictures and reading how she is doing in her daily life as she depends on the Lord. I have enjoyed getting to know her better as a personal friend, and what she posts about her life and how she relates God to it makes me reflect on many areas of my own life.
Enjoy the Journey, Lindsey - I have just gotten to know Lindsay's blog recently, but I visit it every couple of days. I love the mix of topics she blogs about and always leave pondering something she has written. I feel that we are kindred spirits in many things, and I am happy to give her this award.
Christina, quietcajun- This dear lady has become a friend of mine through blogland. She made a beautiful afghan for dear LucyLillie, as well as many other hsb babes. She considers it a labor of love and a blessed time of prayer to be able to do so. That is selfless giving. Her blogposts just seem to flow as she tells about her family and daily life and how the Lord is in it. I love her pictures and all the encouragement and praise she gives to others. She is a blogger to reflect on.
Christine Read - I love reading Christine's blogs. She is uplifting, encouraging and inspirational. I know, those words all pretty much meant the same thing, but they are all words that come to mind when I read her blog. She is an exceptional Mom, and it is reflected in her posts.
Dana at Principled Discovery - Honestly, some of Dana's posts are way over my head. This woman is very learned in many things. I have had the privilege of having her read my blog and comment several times (and we had our last babykins within days of each other, too!!).
I truly respect what she has to say and how she handles comments and issues. She is a personable blogger, knows what she believes and an interesting read. She also started her own carnival, the Carnival of Principled Government!
Lindafay, Higher Up and Further In - What a precious lady. The way she teaches her children is truly inspirational. They are so smart. No exaggeration! She posts regularly about child-training or teaching methods and shares planners and ideas to help out he rest of us. She is an inspirational blogger and a very wise woman. I never leave her blog without having learned something or having something to hang onto and reflect on.
Anyachristine - Christy is a gentle, encouraging lady. I met her when we ere in TN. She has a blog here at hsb, but she also blogs at Until My Last Breath. Her posts are very thoughtful and you will surely spend time reflecting on them! If you are interested in some beautiful jewelry, she is also in the process of getting a website up for her business at The Jewel Vine.
TNMOMTOMANYBLESSINGS, Maria is a blogger I met at a Barn Dance in TN is February. I didn't even get to spend much time talking to her, but she told me that if I make it back to TN, she would love to sit and have a cup of tea. I think that was the nicest thing she could have said to me. What a warm, loving, inviting thing to offer a "stranger". After that, she stopped by regularly, just to check in, with encuraging words. Maria's blog is one I visit regularly, and her posts on family, homeschooling, *goats!, and all the reflective pictures she posts are an inspiration. She always has something encouraging or praise-worthy to say or to think about. Blogboy, Eric - I have gotten to know Eric personally over the past few months, and I will tell you that he is someone who writes profoundly at times. He always has something to ponder. As a matter of fact, this 16yo who helps his Dad and Mom run their business has established a website to reflect on many topics called Not Just An Opinion.com. I also *really* liked his black and white duckling pictures!
Sylvia, totustuus - another younger blogger. Sylvia is a friend of Jocelyn's though there is much they disagree on and can discuss. I have been blessed by this young lady's comment and encouragement more times than I can count on my own blog, though. She is very insightful and quite sweet. She always has something to share. I saw a picture of her for the first time last week. She looks like a great kid!
Denise, HeartnSoul actually has 3 blogs. Each of which focuses on something that she purposefully blogs about. Whether its the love for her family, great homeschool information, or just what's in the news, Denise blogs with a purpose. I have come to know Denise and I know that her main purpose in all those things is to serve the Lord.
Jocelyn - Anyone who knows my 2nd daughter Jocelyn knows that she blogs with a purpose. I am awestruck at how she has grown through her blogging in he past year as she purposes in her heart to serve the Lord as a young lady after His own heart.
She posts many different things, but they are all related to her purpose and show her wonderful personality! she is a tender, yet bold young lady and I am proud to be her mother.
She, at 16, is also writing for NJAO, The Girlhood Home Companion Magazine, and has started The Carnival of Homesteading with her sister, Amanda. She runs about 4 or 5 blogs and still finds time to do all that is required of her here at home. She also is writing her 2nd novel (as she patiently awaits her editor - me!! - to finish her first!)
TOSPUBLISHER, Paul & Gena Suarez - Of course this woman writes with a purpose! To think that only a year ago I had no idea who she was, and now I consider her a good friend. If you have been to a conference and heard her or Paul, read an article in TOS, or only been to her blog, you know that she not only blogs with a purpose, but lives it too!
Talking with Gena you know that purpose and that she speaks from her heart. She cares about what she says; she says what she means. She is a wonderful wife and Mom. She is someone I admire and respect. Both her and Paul. He is a great Bible teacher. They both share a passion for homeschooling and the Lord. They live with purpose.
Rachel - My 3rd daughter, who blogs with a purpose at age 13. She is truly inspirational. Truly. She once had a Mom tell her in a comment that she didn't realize she was only 13 - she thought she was a Mom! I know Rachel is a bit young, and it shows, but I also know that she has a purpose to be kind and loving and serve her God. I know this, because I know her heart. I also know she struggles as a young lady. I know, because she is honest, and it shows in her blogging. She is on her way to becoming a wonderful woman of God, and I am proud of her. She also recently started a homestead blog to post homestead-y things on. I love this girl!
Babymakers, Rachel - I love going to Rachel's blog. There is so much to learn on her blog! She is a grass-roots gal with a lot of common sense. Shepurposes to share her common sense as well as her knowledge in her blog posts. She knows her principlesand is not afraid to stand on them. She is a bright, encouraging young woman. I always learn something new when I visit her blog.
Paulie Suarez, Jr., DarthYxpu - I am giving Paulie this award because he does blog with a purpose, albeit his purpose is for you to visit his blog! I have enjoyed getting to know each of the Suarez boys, and Paulie shares a lot on his blog about heir family adventures.
So, there you have it. My nominations for the 2 awards created by 2 young adults who desire to recognize bloggers who blog intentionally. I hope you will check out these blogs. There are 3 icons you have to choose from. You can get the codes at Jocelyn's original blogpost and at Eric Novak's blog.
Note: if you did the Thinking Blogger Award or were given it but did not participate - you are welcome to use this Award instead and spread the word!Blessings... Jacque Leave a Comment { Last Page } { Page 335 of 595 } { Next Page } |
