Nature Journaling, Session 1
I was greatly inspired a couple of weeks ago to start nature journaling. What better time to start doing it than when so many things are in full bloom and just growing like crazy?
If you have thought about doing a nature Journal or 'nature walks' or any type of drawing nature on a regular basis, but have been discouraged, please take heart and take the plunge. It is a fun, invigorating experience to see how many different sides you get from different members of the family when drawing the same object.
I have 1 reluctant artist. Just 1. Actually, she is not reluctant, just reluctant in front of others. She is actually as talented as the others. All the rest of our children that can hold a pencil and raw a straight line, *love* to draw. I think Isaac has drawn Larryboy literally 100's of times. He doesn't get quite so many drawn since he has to *cut out every single one of them!!!!*
Well, last week, after listening to an online interview with Richard Bell, I got to speak with Jill Novak on hte phone. She is quite a lovely woman and very inspiring when it comes to the ease and importance onf having our children draw God's creation. I love to draw, so this just gives me a real good reason to do something I love and call it school! HA!
Here is the object we drew:

I love the smell of rosemary. I love to cook with it. What else do I know about it? Just what that little stick in the pot tells me - oh, but we will be finding that out!
Here is Amanda's, 17:

Here is Jocelyn's, 16:

Rachel's, 13: I need to take another picture of this one; it's a bit blurry.

Eric's, 10:

and Hannah's, 7:

I did have a rather well-drawn picture by Issac, 3, but he was done, so he crumpled it up!!! UGH!!!
This is mine:

If you are interested in an online conference on Nature Journaling, Jill Novak will be holding more in the near future.
Blessings!!

These are great! Something we definately need to do more of! And baby Lucy is beautiful and 2 year old Caleb adorable! :)
I wanted to express my gratitude to you for your comments on my "unsocialized?" post! I needed and greatly appreciated your honest advice! Thank you for taking the time to be a Titus 2 woman to me!
Blessings,
Angel
P.S. I really enjoyed reading your "honestly" post below. Life isn't always happy and easy and positive. We can bless and encourage others greatly with our vulnerability!

When we did nature journaling last year, we did the tree in front of our house every 3 months. Basically every season. It's leaves changed and fell off and grew again. Kinda cool to do.

I love the different perspectives! It truly demonstrates the variety of ways in which different artists perceive the same subject!
Wonderful Job!

These are absolutely fantastic. What a great exercise.
I can't wait to see what you all do next (no pressure, really!).
I'm glad you were so inspired by the workshop. The Lord blessed you greatly for it!
Blessings,
Jill
