Saturday, July 7, 2007 - LucyLillie is 3 months old Today
Today, Lucy is 3 months old. My, did I say 3 months old?
Time sure does fly, doesn't it? It's been a different kind of fun this time, since Lucy is a "blogworld baby", and everyone loves her so, though most of you haven't even met her!
Ok, well, I don't blog about our children near as much as I should, so I am going to take time to update Our Little Lu and all she is doing.
I wish you could see her talk. She is a real talker. She looks you right in the face and just talks and coos. She also loves to sing. If you sing to her, she will hum right along with you!
She has the sweetest dimples. Have you seen them? Which brings me to the point that I think she is the happiest baby I have ever seen. I really mean it. She has only cried a handful of times since she was born. She is usually smiling. She will tell me if she is going to be grumpy. I can hear it in her urgency that I come and get her. But, she doesn't cry even then.
She has recently started to suck her thumb. She found it when she was only a few days old, and I am constantly having to take it out of her little mouth now. She is teething, though.. I know for a fact!
She has held her head up since the first day she was born. When I had her on my shoulder, she pulled her head up immediately. Now she lifts her head when she is on her belly, of course, and she also "follows" you with her eyes as you walk around her. She is very alert!
I'm sure she would have rolled over by now - if we ever put her down for long!
She knows who Mommy is. When she wants me, she will search the room for me. She knows who Daddy is, too, even though she doesn't see him very much. The relationship that is already there is a mystery to me. Sometims Daddy doesn't get to hod her when she is awake, yet, you can tell by the way she talks to him, she knows he is Daddy. Ahhhh... God is good.
Can you tell how sweet she really is??

Our precious Baby Girl
Ok, I know I probably forgot several things you want to know and it's because they are just normal everyday Lucy- things to us. I am sure I will be editing this post!

I had a feeling I would be answering that question.... about taking her thumb out of her mouth...
Well, have you been to Amanda's blog? She has very beautiful teeth. Very beautiful. Mainly because we paid over $4000 for orthodontics for her because she sucked her first finger until she was 9. Mostly in her sleep, mind you, but, still...
So, I guess, preventative medicine. My discretion... have done that, pacifier... this is the method of choice for this time...

Ohh she is a doll baby!
I don't blame you on the thumb..my nieces have beautiful teeth now..after much money spent..they too were thumb suckers and had some pretty messed up teeth. I didn't allow any of my boys to suck their thumbs and pacifers went in the trash by 4 months of age. But every parent has their own way of parenting.
