Welcome to Saturday Psalm & Praise #7!

Psalm 19:14
14Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

For some unknown reason, I have been heard singing - and enjoying singing - this song quite a bit around here! The reason isn't that unknown, I guess... It's a great worship song to just break out into, don't you think??

From what I found on Google, Michael W. Smith wrote the lyrics. We have a few worship cd's we listen to, so I don't know which one it is on. I guess it really doesn't matter, since it runs through my brain without the cd anyway!

Revelation 5

9And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
10And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

The first time I heard this song, I thought someone was trying to drive me batty. I wanted to enjoy the lyrics as I sung them in worship to the Lord, and I couldn't even hear what I was saying! When I hear this song in my head or I sing it out loud... you will hear me singing the "ladies" part: the one in italics - and the chorus.

Psalm 50

2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.

Worshiping the LORD really isn't about whether I like the song or if I can hear what I am saying, any more than it is about if I am singing off-key or even if I want to sing. It is about singing in worship to a Holy God. It is a sacrifice I offer to Him.

And I can do it any time of the day, anywhere.

I have the song You Are Holy (Prince of Peace) both on my blog and on a CD. I like to sing. It's something that most guys don't like doing. I line doing it because it brings glory and honor to the Lord. Psalm 7:17-- 17 I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness
and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.-- I thank the Lord for what He has done in my life and will yet to do. I also thank Him that He has put on your heart to put together the Saturday Psalms and Praise ministry. God bless!!

Thanks for coming by. My post will still be there when you have time to read it. It's funny you picked a Michael W. Smith because the whole time I was working on my Psalms I was listening to some of his earlier songs and heard how lovely he sings. Nice post!
