New Friends and the First Day of School
I am finally getting to post today after not having a phone line for - 2 days!!!
And, I will say that an English accent is very often heard around here- I think it would quite crack you up to sit from afar and watch our 'girly discussions'!
So, funny thing about that is that I often hear myself typing things in an English accent, because I truly hear Jocelyn ALL THE TIME speaking in such a manner!
and, we love Pride and Prejudice! LOL... We simply had to watch the Trailer at your blog yesterday, Mama Archer - though we have seen the actual movie at least 10 times!!! lol. We went into town to delete emails on high speed so our email didn't overload and were looking for some posts, and the girls just laughed and giggled through the entire thing!
I have been working on a post about what we are planning to do - how and why and wherefore, etc. for the school year. I so enjoyed reading my friends' posts about their school year. Amber, yours was really nice... I loved the pictures of the animals and your school room inspired me! Also a great idea is to have the girls journal their days. I really had great records when I sat down each evening and wrote down exactly what we had done that day and accounted it to school. I know there were so many more I loved... I will have to go back and take a look. Most of them were in Tiany's Open house, I think.
In addition to that... I also have a post about a couple of new friends I made. Sharla has been friends with the girls for some time now, here at HSB, and I got to meet her and her Mom and her Aunt.... who both have blogs here, too. We got to sit and chat about homeschool and our families, church things. It was a refreshing hour or so- is that all it was?? It seemed like longer. I love meeting new friends who seem like old ones, you know! I have made so many here on HSB!
Alrighty.... and now, I am off to start our First Official Day of School!
We are going to start with a study of Doorposts' Polished Cornerstones and Plants Grown Up. We are going to use that alone for several weeks, and the HOW Wisdom Study. Those along with the usual math, reading and proper english that we just practice daily will be quite the full schedule!
Not to mention blogging! Amanda and Jocelyn have been submitting posts to the Carnival of Homeschooling for several months. I love their writing, don't you? They also organize The Homesteading Carnival, write for the Backyard, the Girlhood HC, and a few other places.
Ok.... talk to you later. Have a great week!!
blessings! -Jacque

I have seen P&P (the looooong version) twice now. It is simply marvelous!
And... The accent is very much used around here, also. :-)

Hello,
I would love to see Pride and Prejudice, just haven't done that yet! I also want to see Amazing Grace, it looks very interesting. Thanks for the link-up to my blog, I appreciate it very much. Glad you're back online, I've missed seeing you around.

RYC: Nature brings out the Potter in me ;) I alway have liked to write eloquently, but most of the posts that I write not have room for writing like that. I'm not really going to write forcefully with eloquence! ;)
I can't even get up in our garden to pick, the mosquitoes would kill me! I am looking forward to the first frost. Bwa ha ha!
