Also a thought: On the news that Ms. JK Rowling "astounded" her fans by announcing that a main character in her Harry Potter series is a homosexual headmaster wizard, a few things came to mind...
#1: Though I know kids will continue to read her books, upon the release of her final book, she needs a new audience. What better way to gain a new readership than to include another whole demographic?
#2: And, I haven't heard much about her and her books in the US lately... even though halloween is right around the corner... what better time for the queen of kids witchcraft stories to make such a statement and gain media attention?
It's all about money, honey. Like most things. Do you have an opinion?? Why has this just surfaced? I wonder if this was really planned from the start... and if not, I wonder whose marketing idea it really was:
Many fans were thrilled with the announcement.
"This is a victory for homosexuality the world over," one wrote. "Dumbledore is iconic, and I can't wait for all those little children to hear about this. I am so insanely proud of [Rowling] for doing this." Rowling Lets Dumbledore Out of the Closet

After reading first-hand accounts of what led to the announcement, I don't personally think Rowling's comments had much to do with marketing.
;)
Yes, I read them too. That is highly possible that is was just a fluke... or maybe she cast a spell for it to happen... or maybe it was intentional. Truth in advertising is a rare thing.
I think that truth packed in with such a bunch of lies (wicca and satanism, along with the fact that these books are harmless) would be 'mystifying'.

I am just so "insanely" disgusted. I guess we should never be shocked when a fallen world acts fallen. It is amazing, though, how sneaky the whole plan seems to have been. Sure, I believe she had the whole nasty agenda up her sleeve the whole time. Disturbing to say the least.
On a more positive note, I enjoyed reading through your blog tonight! :) Thanks!
