Saturday Psalm & Praise: Rise Up and Praise Him!

~1 Chronicles 16:31 ~

Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The LORD reigneth.

When I used to lead worship, I just loved this song! It is so full of energy and praise, how can you help but worship? This song seems so much bigger than the fewwords that are in it. Today, we were sitting in the atticroom, the Little boyus were just running around; I could hear someone outside, probaby Eric, and I just started singing these words out. I asked Amanda to sing it out for me; it is such an awesome expression of praise and worship.

This is my intention with Saturday Psalm & Praise: to praise Him. To sing to Him, to worship Him, to Read Scripture as an act of worship of Him. This song truly is about God, not man. If we would get up and praise Him, first thing and all day long, oh, what different lives we may lead!

Come to our aid, LORD; we are a needy people! Only you are deserved of our praise. Only you are worthy of being lifted up.  Draw us so we may see ourselves in you, and fall down to worship and rise up to praise you! Amen!

If you would like to join me in my Saturday Psalm & Praise, it's simple!

1. Write a post on your blog about a favorite Psalm, Hymn or Worship Chorus or one that has spoken to you in the past week.  The only qualification is that whatever you choose has to be in praise of God. In other words, I would like to see Psalms and songs that are not all about me, the worshiper. I have heard too many songs in recent years sung about me, my problems, my worship, etc. I want this to be directed to God and His Son, Jesus. That is who we are to worship, and I think we need to make sure our hearts are set in that direction, not just all about how I want to do this or how I am this because of that.

Truly, we all have to work it out for ourselves, and you need to make it yours. Just bring it to God for His glory. I want this to be an offering to Him.

2. You may just blog the Psalm/song or you can tell what impact is has had on you and your thoughts. Sometimes just the Psalm is enough. Sometimes we have to let out our own words of praise!

3. Link your post to this week's original SP&P.

Sounds like a nice song...I think I would have to hear it with music to tell if I know it or not...

I got 2 more CD's on Friday...I was so excited!! They are from my favorite ministry. One is Christmas music, the old favorites like Away In a Manger..The other, well we'll just say that their name is Strand of Pearls, because it's too long winded to explain who makes up the band..but anyway, It has some of my favorites on it, like Amazing Grace, and In The Garden. I was really excited to get them, and to expand on my music collection!!
