Quick Surprise Trip with Paul and Gena

Paul and Gena made a surprise visit to our home this week. On Wednesday, In the middle of the afternoon, I received an email from Gena asking what we were doing for dinner on Thursday. I called everyone in to read the email, and they were all so excited. I replied back saying ” I hope we are making dinner for you guys.” Gena replied with “well we will be there about 5pm.”

There was loud cheers and hollers.... Wow. We were all so excited. We had not gotten to see them for six months. Well, most of us. Amanda and Jocelyn got to go down to TN a couple of months ago.  Everyone was in shock. Jocelyn was so excited she made actually herself sick.  The only sad part about this whole thing was that Amanda already had plans to be gone til 9pm on Thursday, so she wouldn’t see them when they got here.
The next couple of hours were a tornado of cleaning and getting everything ready. Amanda took the kids to town to get some things and then went to Wal-Mart to get groceries.

They got here late on Thursday, exhausted. Susanni did really well on the trip. The first thing Gena did was bring Little Sus over to LucyLillie and introduce them. We opened a beautiful gift for them - each of them - matching gifts - from Christina - quietcajun. The most beautiful purple matching outfits and a beautiful satiny, soft purple blankie. I stole these pictures from Amanda, so I will get BIGGER pictures of the gorgeous matching purple outfits from Christina.

Some of us were up way too late, and Paul got up and made a delicious Mexican Eggs and turkey bacon breakfast for us in the morning. We sat down, took some more pictures ate and drank coffee and cappucino, and then they left around noon to go up to Spunky's.

Rachel came downstairs on Friday with an outfit for Lucy that matched Susanna's. Amanda got Lucy dressed in her new outfit from Auntie and Uncle Paul and we got some pictures of them.

Isn't it precious when God brings us those sweet surprises in life? The girls are too cute!

I am curious, though, do you ever sleep? I know you were up insanely late Saturday night. Here you said you were up too late, and this post happened at 4:00 a.m.! I could do that pre-kids, but not anymore. :D
