December Swap

Finally.... whew.... I am going to post my pictures from the gifts from my December Swap buddy, Dianne!! Dianne and I were great first-time swap buddies! Mainly because I was horrible at getting my gift sent out, and so was she! :) No, I am not being mean. She was far more critical of herself than I am. I just think we were perfect for each other.

Because she sent the swap gift out late, she thought she needed to be an extra-good swap buddy. I really loved her gifts, too! You know how exciting it is to get a package!

The first thing I unpacked was the fabric swatches. Wow... what a great idea! I will have to tell you tho, my Littles thought they were so cool that they each claimed what they liked as their own.

Isaac especially liked the birdhouse notecards, for some reason. We have several birdhouses/feeders on the porch, and we had been looking up different birds for those weeks, so I think he really latched onto them because of that!

She also sent me The Christian's Secret to a Happy Life by Hannah Whitall Smith. She said it is a great book, so I will have to add it to my Winter Reading List (which is actually more like a 2008 Reading List!). I can't believe I didn't get a picture of the very pretty book mark she made! It is cloth and hand-stamped. It looks like a vintage bookmark. So pretty!

The candles... PartyLite... wonderful. I think Jocelyn thought they were just for her! Guava Papaya, her favorite!

The notebook she made is really nice! What a great craft idea!! It has a cute ribbon to tie it shut. I love it!! I hope to be able to use this idea, too. One of my favorite items she sent was not even a gift.... it was the card she made and sent with the package.... see it there? It has torn paper, cloth ribbon, and a little tag on it that was pretty neat.

Not pictured is the spiral-bound purple notebook and the 3-hole File pockets. How did you know I am a disorganized organizer-freak, Dianne? :)

Oh... and one more thing... pictured above... the RASPBERRY CHOCOLATE bar. It was really delicious. Dried raspberries in dark chocolate! Great choice, Dianne!

Well, you are not the worst Swap Buddy in history, my friend. I loved getting to know you on HSBA; I love talking with you on yahoo, and this was en excellent swap package! Thank you very much! And, if I forgot something, it is because I am the world's worst swap-buddy blogger, lol. a month later! Some of the gifts may have gotten scattered before I got to take a picture of them! I wanted to take a couple more pics, but, well, you work with the time you have!

What a neat gift! The fabric idea is unique. I just cut a bunch of squares for a quilt swap.

My swap sister went missing :*( I'm hoping she is okay. She received my package and commented but then she has not updated on her blog or anything. I am praying for her.

I know you covet the world's worst title but I think you will have to concede this one to Miss Meg...
As I read the list of goodies from your swap bag I noted the book, The Christian's Secret of a Happy Life.... yeah, I have it. I must have got it in the 80's... the pages are yellow and brittle... there is a book mark of a Blood Pressure Card ??? on page 80. There is no date on the copyright page so the age of this Complete.Unabridged edition is a mystery.
But now I HAVE to finish it before you are done with your new copy. Honor is at stake here. But I still think you will have a hard time beating 28 years of procrastination.
