My February, plus the April-May Homeschool Mom Swap

2:53 AM, Friday, March 14, 2008 .. Posted in Contests, Fun Stuff and Our HSB Community .. 1 comments .. Link

I am so bad. I really have enjoyed participating in the Saturday Swap at Homeschool Blog Awards, and I didn't even post about it to let you all know so *you* could too!!

Here is the information from the site:

Welcome to the March & April HSBA Saturday Swap!

We had only 3 sets of swappers last month. This time we don’t have any links to showcase, so I figured it was time for a change in the procedures for the swap. I know how busy you all are (because I am just as busy). So my new idea going forward is to make the swap EVERY OTHER MONTH to give us all the time we need to get our swap gifts in the mail. The extra time can also be used to get to know our swap buddies better. What do you all think about this new change?

Here’s the schedule:

SIGN UP (HERE): By March 15th (Sat.)
PAIRED UP: By March 20th (Wednesday)
MAIL SWAP: By April 17th (Thursday)
POST PHOTOS: By April 30th (Wednesday)
EMAIL LINKS TO ME: By May 7th (Wednesday)
NEXT SWAP: May 10th (Saturday)

So this time, the sign up will be for March AND April. Our next swap won’t be until MAY. Be SURE TO MARK YOUR CALENDARS with these dates!

""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

Now, trust me, it is not a big hassle. It won't break your bank.  It *will* give you a chance to make some new friends and pray for a fellow homeschool moms. It is also fun to pick things out to send and to receive what is sent to you!

Here is what I received from my February Swap Buddy, Robin of Life of Rileys:

February Swap with Robin

Robin was so very sweet. She sent me a nice note in a card that had my favorite verse on it:

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

She also sent me some dark chocolate truffles. I love dark chocolate! Now, the questionnaire you fill out for the swap says that chocolate doesn't mail too well. There were a few barely-melted ones, but it made it all just fine and DELICIOUS!!  For Christmas last year, we got oodles and oodles of chocolate from Page, our friend from England, and not a lick of it was melted. So, sending chocolate is just fine. Not sure about the summer months, but I suppose Priority Mail with a cooler bag in it might work. hehee.

She also sent a very nice scrapbooking package. We use Creative Memories, but this will come in so handy with all the crafts we do! It has tags and saying and seasonal stickers! It is really cute! And, we all love to make cards and decorate our homeschool scrapbooking pages. This is a really nifty set!

I also received a coupon organizer and a cute little notebook! It is covered in striped paper and has a band around it that says, "My kids say the darnedest things!" I think that is my favorite part of the gift. Call me a little weird... I think my favorite gift from Dianne was the covered notebook she sent me too!! Very cute, and I cannot wait to write down all the cute-sie things my kids always say! :))

THANK YOU ROBIN!!!! I hope you liked the gifts I sent you as much as I liked yours! Thank you! It is so fun to get a package in the mail!! Right Vicki??

I'll have to blog next about Vicki's package(s) and Christina's... and I never did blog about Page's, did I?? I tell you, I am a bad blogger! But, I have GREAT! Friends.... speaking of which... I have pictures of the short but wonderful time we spent with Paul and Gena and the kids on Thursday at Olive Garden. There are a few on Amanda's blog and there will be some on Rachel's soon too. I have some sweet ones I want to post too.

Here's a sneak peek:

blessings!
