Saturday Psalm & Praise: A Special Tribute When I created this meme, I set out with very specific intentions to post songs that are truly in worship of God and not of me and my sin or even what He has done for me. I think worship has gone awry in many cases and is directed to the Believer, not Father God.This is a very special Saturday Psalm & Praise. It is actually in praise of a Father God who is a sustainer and a miracle-worker; the One who calms fears and dries tears and knows when our humanity is more than we can bear and our faith is a shred of reality to hold onto... and He is there to provide the rest of that faith and reality. Jocelyn and I spent the past two hours reading over the past three months' posts of a special family I had not heard of until tonight. The Sams family. They have lived the past few months not knowing what the next moment may bring with their little Miracle Boy Joshua. It is quite a story, and Susie is quite candid about their lives and answers many questions. I don't know that I could be so strong. I think the entire family is strong and courageous, as they deemed Joshua to be, though Susie would probably say she is not. This song is one I found on her blog, on Day 11 of Joshua's life. It is 11 days more than they expected to have him, and possibly more than that. When I read it, I knew I had to post it here. I am dedicating this post to their precious family, and not just theirs, because they don't seem like the selfish types... but to all families who have gone through similar days. We know a couple families personally who have, and despite all other things, we can all grieve together and love together and thank God for, well, just being God to us in times like this. Blessings and prayers to your family, Mike and Susie and little Oceana and Grandpas, Grandmas, Uncles and Aunts. And a great big HUG. Susie wrote this song onto her blog and prefaced it with a beautiful word picture of her rocking and dancing around with her precious boy, letting these words sink in, and then crying.... How Can I Keep From Singing
by Chris Tomlin There is an endless song Echoes in my soul I hear the music ring And though the storms may come I am holding on To the rock I cling How can I keep from singing Your praise How can I ever say enough How amazing is Your love How can I keep from shouting Your name I know I am loved by the King And it makes my heart want to sing I will lift my eyes In the darkest night For I know my Savior lives And I will walk with You Knowing You'll see me through And sing the songs You give How can I keep from singing Your praise How can I ever say enough How amazing is Your love How can I keep from shouting Your name I know I am loved by the King And it makes my heart want to sing I can sing in the troubled times Sing when I win I can sing when I lose my step And fall down again I can sing 'cause You pick me up Sing 'cause You're there I can sing 'cause You hear me, Lord When I call to You in prayer I can sing with my last breath Sing for I know That I'll sing with the angels And the saints around the throne How can I keep from singing Your praise How can I ever say enough How amazing is Your love How can I keep from shouting Your name I know I am loved by the King And it makes my heart want to sing Susie also then posted again about this song and what God showed her through it: Day 17. What I really want to say is that I have been deeply affected by this little boy's life and everything Susie wrote about him and their family. My heart, my tears and prayers go out to them. blessings!
