Saturday Psalm & Praise - Psalm 401I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. 2He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. 3And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD. 4Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. 5Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered. 6Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required. 7Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me, 8I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart. 9I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest. 10I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation. 11Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O LORD: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me. 12For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me. 13Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me. 14Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil. 15Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha. 16Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified. 17But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God. Saturday Psalm & Praise: Psalm 4 Oh how easily sin does come upon us and into our minds. And to our hearts. How easily frustrated are moms and how quickly we can lose heart. But our strength does not come from ourselves alone. It comes from Our Lord and our husbands. It comes from quiet times in worship and communion with God. It comes from reading and knowing and trusting in His Word.

The Holy of Holies. We have no idea. Really. We do not realize that all the Old Testament holy things we read about are in the Tabernacle. It was central to the lives of God's people, and it was a foreshadowing of the holiness and sacrifice to Christ. You can read about The Tabernacle and the Holy of Holies in Exodus 25-31. I found an awesome-looking wall chart with these Tabernacle items on it, if you are interested. The Wall Chart is large and colorful and interactive. This is another really awesome MAP of the TABERNACLE. It is very detailed in pictures and information. blessings! Saturday Psalm & Praise - Nothing But the BloodBy request of Isaac, our four-year-old, my selection this week is Nothing But the Blood. He got up and got the the hymnal and asked me to find Nothing But the Blood. I believe it is his and Eric's favorite hymn. I told him it is number 208. The chances of him remembering that number is greater than the chances of me remembering it! I started singing it to him, and he got up and let everyone else know I was going to sing it to them all. This is one of the first songs I remember singing after I was saved from the worldly lifestyle I was living and all my sin. I was attending an Assemblies of God church in Las Cruces, and we had about fifty or so members. I loved singing hymns. I had grown up Catholic, and knew many of the old hymns, but they took on new meaning as a Believer who understood what the blood was for. I had met Matt and his family even before I became a Believer, and his Grandmother was well-spoken in the Word and discernment, so I learned a lot. Nothing but the Blood What can wash away my sin? nothing but the blood of Jesus;
About ten years ago, we had a missionary speaker from about twenty miles away visit our church. We were privileged to go out to lunch with them and some very good friends afterwards. We became friends with them, especially Jocelyn, who felt a special love for the Cambodian people. We did a country study on Cambodia for a homeschool fair, and watched movies about the Khmer Rouge and the atrocities they did, wrote reports and built a 3D map the size of a poster board. Mr. Bell even let us borrow some of his authentic artifacts to display. In one of his talks, he spoke about the Blood and how we as Christians understand the one side of the cross, the salvation side, where the Blood washes away our sins, but the other side of the cross seems to escape us. The side where the Blood was shed for our healing. The other side of the cross where "by His stripes we are healed". See, he was explaining that the Cambodians and cultures like theirs really do deal with the spirit world. They are fearful, and they do offer sacrifice to the gods of their fear. They have customs that reflect that fear, like tying a string onto the ankle or wrist of a newborn to ward off the spirits and keep them out (or keep them in, I can't remember). We need to also experience 'the other side of the cross', the healing of the sacrifice. We, as Believers, accept the Salvation, but many times we do not call upon the Lord for miraculous healing, which was also why He shed His blood. Please remember to pray for Ami Ortiz, a fifteen year-old who had a bomb explode in the basket he was holding. Pray for his miraculous healing. blessings!
